McGuire to return to Eels

The guy can play anywhere - that is a bonus, particularly if we want to put Humble in the same position and develop him.

He can play centre, halves and hooker. Very handy buy in my view.

I'm happy with this signing.....very experienced, and is a very good utility to effectively take up Robson's role in the squad and be much more effective at it.....can be in the centres, five-eighth, halfback or hooker; can teach all of our young players in those positions and at the same time provide good on field performances no matter where they put him.......him in a halves rotation with Anthony Mitchell would be great, with Mortimer and Murray and Humble at the halves benefiting from his experience.

Signings a plenty.

Long live the board and doom anybody that wish there downfall.

We will be competing with the sharks next year, as the laughing stock of the nrl.

We didn't worry the Sharks at all this year. Looks like they will have nothing to worry about next year either.

We'll have an inexperienced coach and a team of injury-prone has-beens.

Talk about getting everything arse about.

Hey Staggs, is the ex-Eel you are talking about an outside back?
If so, is he old or young?

Gee , we have to be the most critical fans in the NRL, always the sky is going to fall in. There are times where we could take a leaf from the other clubs, and talk up what we do. Kearney has a good pedigree and will be working his nackside off to be successful, and I can guarantee we will be fit and hard nosed. As for older players, as long as the mix is right then we have proved we can't win with inexperienced halves , so we need to take a deep nreath and give it time.
I know people will come on and say the opposite, but sometimes it is depressing to read how we continually hammer ourselves, makes it tough to be here every day.

Pedigree? Backside?
I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can see Kearney doing with our line-up that DA hasn't already tried/done with it, perhaps it's merely my cynical nature, or perhaps it's a shred of logic.
On a different note, regarding the old blokes coming in, maybe they'll prove me wrong and actually play well, but given the background of 2 of our old bloke signings they could just as easily bring a negative concept of experience.
For what it's worth, 2011 does seem like the sky will fall.

What did DA do with the line up, not a lot, they were unstructured , unfit and unmotivated. Nothing made me believe he wa the answer, and I can tell you that was tyhe opinion shared by some of his staff

Bring on a new direction
