The easy option is to use Robson as a 14 .. extend his minutes each week and make an informed decision.

Yep, and hopefully that can be done. But it all comes down to whether we can strategically offer him $350K - $400K a season in order to buy us that time. If other clubs are throwing that sort of cash at him now, we have to be able to match it now or he's likely to sign a contract while the offer presents itself and good luck to him.
I genuinely don't want him to go and with JDB unlikely to be involved for the foreseen future, there is opportunity to enable him to play a role to help fill that void in some fashion, but if he does go, we are still very well served at no.9 and i for one won't throwing my toys out of the sand pit over it.

Go back 9-12 months ago and the whole forum was in love with McInnes.
Now here we are one year later saying just get rid of him! Sign the player that is yet to prove anything at NRL level.

This contract extension has been on the cards for a couple of years. Millward could have signed Robson last year and then signed depth players and by doing this would have avoided the current situation. Now we are looking at losing another high flying junior - Jack Bird, Cook - just because Millward is not up to the task.

Fans are sick and tired of these old boy cronies who are not up to the job, continually stuffing up with poor decisions and in-action.

No, I expect a high level manager like Millward to do his job and make provision for our very best juniors to make their way to first grade at SGI. It will be too late if we let him go and regret our decision as we did with Bird and Cook. Millward could have made it so that McInnes is retained with Robson as second string hooker if he upgraded and extended Robson a year ago.

Unlike some other players retained by Millward, Robson is a very promising junior who has excelled at representative level and Club level all the way through his junior career and recently in U20s and ISP. There is no downside to his game, he has all the skills and is the most promising junior we have produced since Jack Bird.

And Bird.....on current form, he wouldn't make our first grade team.
