You're right its obnoxious because they're USA.
Sorry I don't kiss their *ss like you do, personally think their country is awful.

I enjoy the Commonwealth games because they're not there

Looks like the gold are drying up for the aussies and a slight slide down the medal table will be in inevitable

Think we will probably finish with around 10 gold which is better than London.

What is obnoxious about it? Do you believe it is obnoxious when people chant for their team at the footy, or when we do the "Aussie Aussie Aussie, oi oi oi" chant? I think the people who don't like the USA chant are just people who don't like the USA.
The arrogance and smart arse way they say it.

Ok genius how many gold do you think we'll get?

7 at best, maybe 8 on a good day. We have just lost 3 golds (4 if you include us choking the equestrian overnight) that we would have banked on with Larkin and Seebolm's shockers as well as the mens hockey playing like a bunch of drunks. Then you have the 100m men where Nathan Adrian is a massive threat, and the only one I can bank on the swimming is Larkin in the 200m back. Womens medley relay is a chance but the US will go close there. Can't see us winning much outside the pool. Traditionally we have been good at cycling but only Meares is a good chance and sprints are lottery as Victoria Pendleton found out in 2012, World Champion unbackable favourite, gets rolled in the final by Meares. The other races the Brits and the Dutch are good in. I have us winning a couple on the water, the mens 4 and Kim Brennan in the single sculls, and we might pick up a sailing gold, but that is about it.

7 would be less than London, really? That would be disastrous.
Hopefully we do better than that.

You never know the Opals are looking very strong and I have faith our swimmers (the ones that are actual legit hopes) will perform.
We'll see though.

Of course alien would switch support to the US. With their population and funding they're guaranteed to be successful (for sports anyway) forever. We all know he can't stick by a side when the going gets tough.

Rowing and Sailing are expected to win a few, choking aside, then there may be one or two out of the blue

Is Larkin a solid favourite for 200m (like the Campbell's) or just a slight favourite like he was in the earlier race?

Jess Fox surely is a good chance.

Cate Campbell too.
