Why don't they move Peach to 5/8 he seems to play there a lot in attack these days and it gives us two ball players, one on each side of the ruck, and Peach could move out in defence ala Preston when he played at the sharks. IMO peach would be a great 5/8 with his vision in attack.

He is our leading DH runner.

Isnt Sully our leading DH runner reefy?
No.
Peachey picked up 16 in match.
But having said that, Cameron smith has set a new bench mark for dummy half play.
52 tackles, 15 kicks in play, 20 dhrs, ffaaaarrrggggg meeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Blacktip-Reefy i dont know what you mean by leading DH runner but Sullivan has made the most meters form dummy half from our team. If my memory serves me correctly he was ranked third in the NRL for meters gained from dummy half before the game against Manly.
Also Craigshark, no i cannot see the future but i do not need to be able to see the future to be able to say that Peachey will never come second in the Dally M awards again and that Peachey will never be the best fullback in the game again. At one stage he was, hence his best days are behind him. I still think he is a very good player and want to see him retained but i doubt anyone would argue that he is still as good a plyer today as he was 4 yrs ago.

metres is metres & dhr's are dhr's.
you make one then another, 1+1 =2.
If you want to listen to a 16 year old kids version of DHR's, read big league.
If you want to know what the coaches know, you read, somebody elses stats.
eg Phil Goulds or club appointes tally men.
If you dont beleive me, watch a game, do your own stats. jsut pick one thing.
& then check it against big leage, the official, or NRL.com.
They do not have a clue, but they are consistent in their errors.

That's prettyold news Garbo.

Both players as you say have history and the club knew this, thats why they had to hide Smith at the back of the coach and then go and pick up williams, who was given the only " spare" seat at the front.

Laughable I know.

Then when williams needed to go potty, and headed for the back where the toilet was on the coach, he of course saw smith, king hit him and f...d his arm.

Good management of the problem showed by the club.........

Just looking at RLW and Peachey made the second least metres than any other Cronulla player that started in the 13 against Manly.

And you guessed it McGoldrick was last!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reefy your cracking me up! :^o

isolate one week fargwit.
You will also see then that peachy is down for 4 try assists.
next closest is Kimmorly with 1.
I make some mistakes on this forum, but at least I am not a constant fugwit like you.
Who we gonna sack this week DS?

f**king loser.

If the truth hurts then you must be in alot of pain DS. Peachey is our leading try scorer. He is still the heart of this team. You can see the difference he makes to our side. When he is on . . . we win. When he is off . . . we lose. Now, you have to hope that he is going to be on more than he is off and I think a player of his quality will have you wishing you never said any of this come Saturday night.

Peach should be retained but on a lower deal. Its okay to bank on developing new guys but someone needs to be around to teach them. ATM our 2 nominated candidates for FB are playing with (ie learning positioning, play reading etc) with one of the best. As a true clubman he has a lot to contribute in teaching these guys as a player, not a sideline coach. If he or they do decide to finish up, give him a runners role, so he can guide the young guys. But I believe he is still an integral part of the NRL squad and will be for a little longer yet.

All youth needs experienced guys around them to learn skills from and to control situations and if you look at the team we are a bit light on experience.

Thats a great idea. I hope Peach does play a couple more seasons yet. After that I really hope the keep him around the club. The role of runner as you described would be perfect.

I reckon so - a lot of clubs have done this as a transition type arrangement. Still allows player to be involved, gives guidance to young dudes, assists coach and also gives ex-player a feel for coaching. (eg Brown, stuart, hasler and Co.0
Should be something for club to look at.

I'd give him a 1 year deal. We know he is not going to another club, or to England, or Union. If we don't sign him he's going back to the bush, so why can't we just give him a one year deal and assess the situation again this time next year.

He won't fetch the same dough either so we are laughing. Sign him now before he has another blinder and his price goes back up.

I think it gets to the stage where is experience becomes far more valuable than hs line breaks.

Even simmons or someone else was faster and perhaps better pyhsically than peach at fullback, they are not yet at a stage where they will command respect and read the game like peachey does. I doubt if simmo would get into first reciever and call the ball from the dummy half despite kimmorley calling for it infield if he saw something on.

I wish we had Luke Lewis!!

So do I. He impressed me last night. A heck of a lot more then his shit-for-brains Wing partner Rooney. That bloke has no idea sometimes. He didn't do much wrong admittedly, but he didn't do much at all.

At one stage people were comparing Lewis' running style to that of the mighty Steve Rogers.
