Stuart Law talking up burns for 3 on news.com. Says he is a terrible waiter. Hence the reason for opening this year and having success.

Thats got to be the worst excuse I ever heard as to why some one bats in their position

Shouldn't we wait till Jake Doran gets a game for NSW first, before we start spouting off at the knob over him.

I agree, just saying what I feel will be the sort of nucleus of the lineup in 2-3 years that is all. I agree, needs form, needs FC runs. Never fear, he will get them.

Has your affection shifted from Shane Watson?

I see Nathan Lyon calling Watson "a world class batter" - sad when teammates have to lie through the press, or sad if Lyon is mentally challenged...

Seriously, Watson is world class in the shorter forms, in tests he's overall overage, and been poor for several years - actually, been poor apart from the couple of seasons he opened with Katich

Watson has been one of the biggest under achievers in Australian cricket of the last years. Him and Matty Elliott.

f**ked up by injury. Soon as he would get going he would be sidelined for a lengthy period and have to restart. Was easily world class for the only period of time where that didn't happen. Bit of a shame really. The hate he bought on himself is the same. Acted like a prized f**kwit but reigned it in noticeably after the Gayle incident. Too late though. He is a marked man while ever he is there.

He has been a victim of injuries but he also brought alot of the criticism on himself by whinging about where he wants to bat and continually talking about himself in interviews

He manages to turn almost every interview into an issue about me me me me, you'd think he was the next Bradman when you hear him talk about himself.

Watson is one of the bigger waste of talents. The problem is between the ears.
Yep, also easily one of the softest cricketers I have ever seen. Still has the same flaws in his technique he had a decade ago. Which says to me he doesn't work hard enough at his game.

I think that's an exaggeration. I saw the f**kwit on the field and I get what that's going to bring. The talking about a preference to open I get as well. The rest just sounds like a hater hating.

Well we've got our excuses laid out in the event of a loss in Melbourne. Worked for the Indians, right?
waiting for a tweet from Aussid management saying the practice pitches aren't up to standard. Watto now could be out for at least a decade what a sad loss.

Not sure he was ever "easily world class" and I think his "talent" is hugely overrated - every international cricketer is very talented, nothing about Watson suggests he's especially gifted tbh

I think he was. From memory, he was test, ODI and t20 player of the year for 2 years straight. Carving up the IPL as well. For that period, probably world class to everyone but Australian cricket fans.
