Membership Ideas/Issues?

Move all home games against Sydney teams to ANZ Stadium and set up a ticket pricing structure that Nathan Tinkler has done for the Knights. Watching the Eels play in front of 60,000 would be awesome. (think 2009 semi-final agaisnt the mutts )
Keep Parramatta Stadium for our games against the Regional teams.

Set up Memberships for ANZ Stadium games only and Parramatta Stadium games only to get around the issue of seats being not as good at one ground as the other. If you want to go to all games, buy two ticket memberships and get a really big discount.

15. How can the club improve your satisfaction at Parra Stadium? Entertainment? Competitions? Challenges?

Im going straight to Q15, because this is what annoys me most about my game day experience. Dead set, an idiot could run the stadium better than this mob does. My points are relevant to Mick Cronin Stand as my membership is there, however some of the point could be carried over to KT Stand, particularly from a catering perspective.

1) Better use of behind MC stand! Its such an open area, yet it is dark and dingey! Zero atmosphere before a game! They need to work on the areas that they have already, being an outdoor cafe (be it tiny) and a sometimes used bar, and utilise the area better. People would be more than happy to socialise here, but its just not conducive to it.

2) Toilet facilities. Pathetic by 2011 standard. There is at least 5 meters outside the toilet area that is not used, and would be perfect for straight out extensions. people are forced to cram through tiny door ways, wait for 4 or 5 sinks, use 4 or 5 toilets, and a cramped urinal area. Not good enough!

3) Catering Areas!. People are forced to line up at to small entry doorways... these doorways also happen to be the entry to the Bar, so on a busy game day becomes as congested as the lead up to the Epping tunnel, M2 Eastbound! For goodness sake.... change the doors to open the whole area. Change the exchange process, so people walk in, grab the food they require, then pay at registers (preferably in an extended area outside the current doorways).. this will keep the flow happening, and stop people having to wait 30 mins for a bloody bucket of chips.

4) Tables in the bar area. Gees, give the punters somewhere to put their two beers down! Perhaps even a 42" display at each end, linked to the feed on the replay screen.

5) Bar Area - setup railing, entry from either end, where people simply line up in, grab their beer, then pay... similar to SFS. Currently the lines spill everywhere and the place just becomes too congested.

6) BEER/Drink and Food service terrible! Just get someone pouring beers not stop! as many as they can, because I can assure you they will be bought and drunk. how hard is that??!!

7) standard of food. Probably reflects the rest of the facilites at Parra Stadium...... ordinary!

What gets me most is that the Stadium is such a great place to watch football, and a great atmosphere, but the viewing experience is let down once someone leaves their seats - Toilet/Bar/Food/Food Purchase/Common Areas etc are terrible.

Some major changes to those running the facilities, and building additions to the toilet and catering areas are a must!!

Anyway just my two cents worth :)

All good points - but all issues for the Parra Stadium trust - not the club. I guess the issue is how much power does our club have over how the trust run the joint ??

Do you seriously actually think we'll get 60k crowds every week playing at ANZ? You're dreaming if you do. We'll get a quarter of that.

And this is why the Bulldogs have a $98 season membership for General Admission cause they can afford to do it due to the capacity of the stadium, that's why I mentioned in one of the questions if we did say play half the games at ANZ and half at Parra Stadium and have 6 game passes like how the Saints do it with Kogarah and Wollongong as a suggestion?

That's why Dogs and Bunnies can afford to give memberships away cheaply and give the customer (members better options) with pricing.

The Bulldogs are the benchmark, they have over 50,000 people on their facebook compared to us at around 5,000.

Their corporate support is second to none and can offer all types of sponsorship promo's and cater for more sponsors then we can at Parra Stadium.

Some great points.

In relation to the food and bar, etc.

Would meal deals work?

Eden Park on the big screen kept promoting a burger, chips and drink was like $15NZ and Penrith has the same system also?

I agree it's garbage food at most times but the caterers were locked in by the trust on a contract.

I'll touch on your points:
1. Totally agree. When you go down the steps at the back of the cronin, it's all the smokers there and heaps of room and all you look at is the Pools.

Perhaps set up mobile drinks stands at the back to ease the traffioc when buying hot food?

2. Agree, toilets are pathetic and need major upgrading

3. That process works well and ANZ Stadium have that where you walk in, grab your food and pay on the way out. (I'm not saying lets move to ANZ by the way)

4. Is there no tables in the bat at the Cronin stand to watch through the glass?

5. agree

6. it's a piss poor effort by the Spotless team (caterers)

7. the trust need to look at the contract they have and put these people on notice to improve otherwise get someone else

These are all trust issues but being the major tennant, we should be demanding better conditions. I hope Liberal get in cause the trust will be given a shake.

You can't smoke inside the gates.

I also favour a move to ANZ, possibly for good, but atleast to stick it up the Stadium Trust, they carry on like they have a monopoly. The club need to send a message loud and clear, they need us more then we need them, shape up or f**k off.

Makes perfect sense now

That's a very valid point.

Perhaps Parra Guru may know, is Bay 48 majority season members? I know 44 is full of season members. I wonder if 49 and 43 have season members?

I cant believe the price difference between sitting on half way in the terrace and sitting behind the posts is like $40 I think from memory?

Yes absoultely full. I tried to add an extra membership and was told the entire bay is sold out with members.

I think it's a very good point you just made Jodeci about us being the stadium's main tenants. I know a lot of the complaints made in this thread by myself and others are not through fault of the club but the stadium trust, but the club and stadium really need to work together. Let's face it, if the Eels decided to play all our home games at ANZ, Parramatta Stadium which just be a large white elephant. What other events are they going to have there... the ocassional A League game in the summer?

Full refurbishments of the toilets is probably asking too much.... but there are really so many little things that would be so easy, simple and cheap to improve that the stadium trust could do to make people's enjoyment of game days better.

I was in the Cronin stand for the past 5 years and everyone smoked just out the back (bay 27) so I guess they changed it but never the less we could occupy that space some other way

I think the toilets is probably the easiest thing to re-do

Set up portaloo's in the empty spaces for the time being and rip the toilets, tiles, mirrors etc off the existing toilets and dress it up inside with new toilets, hand towels, etc

Set up different food stalls behind the stadium, moving into winter we could have soup stalls for those cold Saturday nights or a different theme of foods in the mobile stalls.

Thank god for McDonalds at North Parra

Yeah when I meant cheap and easy, I meant making just policy changes that wouldn't cost a cent. Like remove a 2 drink limit at the bars which would halve the queues because nobody can do shouts anymore. Little things like that

Very good points though, they could easily do all of the things you mentioned at very little effort.

On Maccas, last year I was thirsty so bought a large Coke on my way to the ground but the security staff wouldn't let me into the ground with it because apparently they don't allow you to take drinks or food in that has corporate logos on it :?

And then they wonder why people decide not to purchase memberships.

As per my previous post - these are stadium trust issues - not the club.

And I already stated that if you read my post above the last one. But I'll repeat my point anyway just for you. The club, knowing they are the main tenants and just about only permanenent tenants of Parramatta stadium, should be working harder to make sure the stadium trusts cater to fans needs and requests a lot better than they currently do. Given how valuable the Parramatta Eels is to the stadium trust, the club should certainly have more pulling power than they currently do. And if the stadium continue to refuse to make minor minor changes, then well the club should have the balls to say "well there's an 80k stadium just 10ks down the road we'll use instead".
