Souths 15,000 members bring in 2 million dollars. That works out at around $133 per member. I would like to know what you get for that. Does it include a season ticket?
For 8600 or so of them it does.
Ticket memberships for South Sydney are as follows. Source :

$290 if paid on-line or $300 either upfront if not on-line or Over 6 months with the 'Easy Pay' system Souths have.
That is seating anywhere between the Goal Lines at ANZ Stadium
Red and Green Membership (General Admission)
$200 if paid on-line or $210 either upfront if not on-line or Over 6 months with the 'Easy Pay' system Souths have.
That is seating anywhere that is not Reserved Seating at ANZ Stadium
Regional (5 Game package Reserved seat on the Southern 10 Metre Line, must be outside of 100Kms from Sydney CBD)
$150 if paid on-line or $160 upfront if not on-line or $162 Over 6 months with the 'Easy Pay' system Souths have.
For the Rest there is Non-Ticketed "Membership"
That means you get all the membership stuff, but no Lanyard and as far as I know now access to the Priority Booking for Rep and Finals Games.
Supporter Member
$85 on-line, $90 offline and $92 over 6 months ($16) if you are in Australia and "International" is $95 on-line, $100 offline and $108 over 6 months ($18)
They also have a WA membership for their 1 game at Members Equity Stadium this year.
Which is the same as international but gives you a seat at the WA game.
Now I will admit souths do a great deal more to make "Members" feel like they are part of the club and with souths if my understanding is correct you are joining the SSFC that owns 25% of the club. But looking at it, on face value, Parramatta STH's get
Exclusive 2009 Season Ticket Holder Cap
Individual 2009 Season Ticket Holder Card
Pirtek Pages Newsletter (One per household)
Regular Membership E-Newsletter
Entry to Member Post Match Functions (which is open to all comers at the Leagues Club but members only at ANZ)
10% Member discount on all Rabbitohs Merchandise
Priority purchase period for major Rugby League matches
So for the sake of say $10 on the Cronin Side, the difference in memberships is a Magnetic Fixture card, a lanyard and a Keyring.
B&G Army also get
2008 Parramatta Eels Year Book
(A Different) Cap
Keyring
Squishy Foot
Backsack
The problem is promotion of the clubs not that we don't have value for what we give. I have stated before in the maths I have done you would have to miss 4 games at Parramatta a year to not get value for your season ticket.
I know if we simply changed the names to Season Ticket "members" and Blue and Gold army "members" some would feel that would be a significant step in the right direction as we would be marrying up with the NRL's membership push. It would also be nice if STH's got get the same as B&G army except the caps would be different and change the Backsack to a Lanyard so everyone can "wear" their memberships proudly, that would simplify memberships.
