WORLD CUP FINAL (created comp, league god difficulty, 2x10min halves)

I was getting a bloody hiding. Australia scored their first try through a Willie Mason 80m effort. Lockyer converted. From the kick off I kicked it out on the full, and Gower managed to kick his team a further 40m up field, and Mason scored again, first tackle. Lockyer converted. So 12-0 down after 4 mins. I then kicked the ball off, and it went out on the full again #-o at which point Im furious. Gower kicks them 40 m downfield, and off the first run, Mason gets his hatrick. Lockyer converts. Then with 5 mins to go, I manage to score a try through a Matt Utai bust, and offload to Leslie Vanikolo. Robbie Paul converts.

HALF TIME: AUS 18 NZ 6

I kick off through Robbie Paul, and yep, another one out on the full. Gower kicks it out about 10m up field. Luke Rooney gets first hit up, and I smash him, causing him to lose the ball, but the ref calls it backwards, and Darren Lockyer scoops it up and scores under the posts. He converts and its 24-6. Then an amzing thing happens. I kick the ball off, and Shane Webcke drops it. From the scrumbase, I pass the ball to SB Williams (created player, off the bench at centre) who busts through Anthony Minnichello to score. Paul kicks the goal, and its 24-12 with 6 or 7 mins to go. They kick off, and I use my 5 tackles, and only get to the 30. Brent Webb gets the ball on the 5th, and kicks an amazing 40/20. Off the scrum, Webb(playing at halfback) throws a dummy, fools Minnichello, and scores under the posts. Paul converts, and its 24-18. Off the kick off, Robbie Paul draws two men, and offloads to Utai who scores after a 80m effort. Paul converts. Score 24 all. Craig Gower kicks off out on the full with 3 mins to go, and I manage to get my team up to the goal line through a great kick for touch from Paul. Lance Hohaia (playing at 9) taps and scores, Paul converts and it is 30-24 to NZ. The two teams battle it out for another 2 mins, and in the last min, Minnichello head high tackles SB Williams, who then taps the ball, busts through 3 defenders, then draws the acting fullback in (I think it was Rooney), and passes to Nigel Vagana (playing at FB) who runs 40m to score. Paul converts and NZ are crowned WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

The first try came a few minutes from halftime when Hindmarsh took on the line and offloaded to Marsh who dived over in the corner, Riddell converted from the sideline.
6-0
Not long after Grothe was injured in a tackle, so Petersen replaced him but while that was happening Harrison ran 30 meters to score for Souths, Peters missed the kick from right in front.
6-4
Just before halftime, Wagon offloaded to Burt who in turn ran 50 meters down the side of the field only to be tackled 5 meters out from the try line, Burt quickly played the ball to Wagon who passed to Stringer and charged towards the line, the first defender stopped him but a second man in threw him over the try line, Riddell converted the goal from in front.
12-4

Halftime

In the first few minutes of the second half, in their own part of the field, Hegarty combined with A. Macdougall who ran 50 meters to score, Peters again missed the kick.
12-8
A few sets later, Morris kicked down the field in an attempt to keep the pressure on, the ball was taken by Peters and passed to Marteene who shocked the defense and ran in for an 80 meter solo effort try, Peters who was having a shocking day with the boot missed again.
12-12
With one minute remaining and in planet field goal, Morrison ran across field and threw a cut out pass to Morris who took it on the fligh and ran 40 meters down the touch line with the fullback ahead he passed to his inside man, Petersen and he scored under the posts for what looked to be the winning try, Riddell converted the goal
18-12
With 40 seconds left, Hindmarsh gave away a penalty and Souths had one last set of six 10 meters out from the goal line, however my defense stood tall.

after losing my first 3 games in a wcc tourney. I scraped a 14-12 win against bradford, and comfortley beat wakefield t-w, i found my self trailing 20-0 to north queensland with only a minute before half time.
i scored a try to make the score 20-6 at half time.
in the second half i had better field pos and took advantage of well bringin' the final score to 22-20 to warrington, wth logan swann scoring the last gasp try and lee briers (the best kicker in the world) slotting over the easy convert.

I still think me getting a bloke sent off after the full-time siren is the single greatest memorable moment in the history of this game.

I had one when after a knock on I coat hangered a Roosters player and the scrum continued. It got to the end of the set, they kicked it to me then at the end of that set I kicked it dead in goal. The referee then stopped called over Ben Smith and sent him off. I thought it was some stupid call until I remembered that he had committed the foul about 2-3 minutes earlier.

Had a 40 metre forward pass from one Newcastle player to Andrew Johns. It was passed from the goal mouth to Johns who looked like he was scrambling back to get on side.

I just finished off a season in League God and it was actually a really good, hard difficult yet realistic enough season. Playing 7.5min halves most of the scores were close (I had 4 extra time games) and not high - winning on LG difficulty is about getting your scrambling defense in order. As good as your line defense is they will break it if they care too, so you've gotta be able to cover for breaks. I reckon I prevented about 100 tries with it throughout the season and finished 6th overall, losing 17-16 to the Warriors in the first finals match which was the end for the Cowboys.

That was using 2005 squads too and on the PC version with a controller. Probably my most memorable moment of the season was when I scored an amazing length of the field try, the only one all year (they always run you down in LG). Went through plenty of hands and came from my own line, finished off by Ty Williams.

Had an excellent memorable moment the other week with my mate on RL.

We had played a 20 minute game and it was 10 all with like 30 seconds to go, I was desperately keeping him out of my ingoal with tops D when a computer player gives away a headhigh meaning that all my mate had to do to win was slot the penalty in front 20m out.

So my mate lines it up as the siren sounds and I have my head in my hands, he takes the shot and hits the post! Not only did he miss but the ball falls into one of my players hands and he was off! I ran the length of the field from my own in goal to score the try and win! Man did I absolutely give it to him, it was deadset the most improbable win evar!

5:30 SYD TRY Roosters 18-4
Walker goes in after a brilliant 40-20 from Craig Wing puts them in easy position. Fitzgibbon again, this time from beside the posts, converts.

8:55 BUL TRY Roosters 18-8
Perseverence pays off for Canterbury, Utai scoring for a second time out wide. El Masri misses again from the corner, however.

18:45 SYD TRY Roosters 28-16
Another keyboard malfunction means a forward pass on my own line and from the ensuing Rooster set, Roberts scores. From in front Fitzy makes the gap twelve once again.

20:15 BUL TRY Roosters 28-22
Patten keeps the 'Dogs in it by burrowing over beside the posts, allowing El Masri to bring things back to one converted try again.

21:20 SYD TRY Roosters 34-22
Loose pass gives Fitzy a chance for his own four pointer, which he converts from in front.

22:30 SYD TRY Roosters 40-22
Finch gives the Roosters a seemingly undeniable lead and Fitzy completes the six pointer from in front after a Wing 40-20. Roosters by 18.

26:50 BUL TRY Roosters 40-28
The Bulldogs seem to add some respectability with Grimaldi slamming it down 10 to the left of the posts. El Masri converts and the 'Dogs bring the margin down to 12.

27:30 SIN BIN Roosters

28:10 BUL TRY Roosters 40-34
The Bulldogs seem to be launching an improbable comeback when Asotasi scores on the second tackle after the penalty. El Masri kicks a pearler from 10 in from touch and the margin is six with under two minutes left.

29:50 SYD TRY Roosters 44-34
Despite their best efforts Canterbury don't get possession again after dropping the kickoff, and on the siren Morley goes over in the corner. Fitzgibbon misses but the visitors are home in a thriller.

Fulltime Sydney Roosters 44-34.

Excellent game, I haven't played on League God for a while so I'm quite proud to have only lost by ten.
