Gallop should be over there talking up Perth for 2012. Just as the AFL are aggressive in their pursuit to expand into Sydney & SE QLD, NRL should announce their intent to see a WA side in by 2012.

He should speak openly to the Perth media about how RL stuffed up back in the 90s and how they want to get it right this time around. Take a few pot shots at "boring" Force games and tell them the greatest game of all is coming soon. Whip up interest and excitement - the AFL do this so much better than us.

GAllopp is a clueless genius when it comes to expansion. He has not yet even come out and said that Perth is a possibility let alone talked us up!

It's only Grahame Annersley that has said the NRL would like to see the game expand to include a WA team. The NRL as a group (and mostly via David Gallop) instead have said on numerous occasions that expansion isn't even on their radar, let alone to include a team from outside Queensland (as far as I've heard anyway).

Grahame Annersley appears to be the guy we should hope runs the NRL soon. He's talking down and heaping (well deserved and truthful) sh*t on aussie rules's plans for a Gold Coast team, and he's talking up the chances of expansion of our game AND including a WA team.

Then Gallop should be sacked for underperformance! Any director or manager doing the same would have gone months ago.

I thought that had been squashed with the WA Govt pulling out of the proposed sponsorship deal?

I thought that had been squashed with the WA Govt pulling out of the proposed sponsorship deal?

My understanding of it was that Souths had arranged to play 2 games per year there for the next few years and that was separate/not conditional on the WA govt's sponsoship.

That would be great news if true. I hope they incorproate the games into Reds season memberships to give them a boost for next year.

After reading the comments on this old Western Reds site, it made me sad about what was about to happen. All for the sake of saving Sydney!

There is nothing to stop the NRL bringing in a new WA franchise! They are playing silly beggars and its a sham!

Please read.

I want to see Perth back but the emphasis now is for the WAR bid to be such a good one that the NRL cannot refuse them entry. Good luck!

None mate. I know that but what I am saying is that they should have better support than the other JBC teams (they may well have I don't know). They chose the wrong side in SL and have paid the price.

They are a shoe in for 2012 and rightly so....I just mean if things go wrong they have only themselves to blame (whcih incidentally I think it will all be fine).

I just hope they aren't used as a stick to kick out Souths...again.

My Dream Table - 20 teams - home and away season...top eight finals system ....like I said DREAMING!!

South Sydney Rabbitohs
Adelaide Rams
WA Reds
Auckland Warriors
Wellington Orcas
Manly Sea Eagles
Cronulla Sharks
Melbourne Storm
St. Gill Dragons
GC Titans
Brissy Broncos
Para Eels
Penriff
Newcastle
Canberra
Tigers
Bulldogs
Cowboys
Central Coast Bears
Easts

I'm with you on that list...

Then what about Canterbury, Cronulla, Canberra etc who were ALL Super League?

The same Cronulla who are mentioned as a team to merge or relocate in light of the latest revelations from NRL headquarters. The worse thing about that is that clubs who joined SL should have had their survival guaranteed. According to the press thats what helped bring down the Bears. If they had gone to SL people say they'd still be in first grade today...
