Voyager a Perth Prog Metal Band have just released their 5th album titled V
Excellent album their best yet, if you are looking for something melodic with great song structure and catchy then check it out.

They are also performing on the 5th of July at the Factory Theatre, they are very good live.

Favourite local metal band at the moment - Abacination. Awesome tight & fast shit from the Central Coast. Seen them twice this year & could easily go again...

Any one planning on catching Devil Driver and Whitechapel?

I will be seeing them in Brisbane at the Hi Fi bar. Think they are also doing Sydney then Melbourne after here.

Arise, Beneath the Remains and Chaos Ad. Sheer classics.

Roots was the beginning of the end for mine, utter shiiiiiiite.

And I say this not to shit stir or be a music snob, I just think they lost the plot with this album.

Wow, opposite to me. The early albums all sound exactly the same with a few stand out tracks here and there, but Roots was end to end gold IMO.

if anyone doesnt at least ppreciate animals as leaders theyre obviously not human

I can't stop listening to AAL. Packy introduced me to them - thanks mate. They are brilliant. Would love to hear mike Patton front them for an album but they don't need vocals really.

Seeing Conan, Neurosis and High on Fire soon.

Was devastated when Eyehategod and Weedeater were canceled.

Also, keep an eye out for Lizzard Wizzard, they are a lot of fun live. They are opening in Brisbane for both Conan and High on Fire - http://lizzardwizzard.bandcamp.com/

Just checked them out and I think I'm hooked too lol

Making better use out of 8 strings than a lot of bands.

Listening to Architects at the moment.. Thought I would give them a go considering they are post hardcore and Aussie and are touring with Amity. But pretty much the reason I am posting this in this thread is the hatred that the post hardcore genre seems to cop from you oldschool metal heads.

Yep, so they are. Guess I won't be listening to them anymore.

Post hardcore are bands like bring me the horizon, the amity affliction, in hearts wake. It's screamo with cleans. But it can also cross into other genres.

Well I hate sreamo without cleans, so the stuff with doesn't float my boat either. I do tend to like a few of the other "post" subgenres though, post-black metal stuff in particular like Altar of Plagues is pretty awesome.
