I've got to do the dash from Canberra to Sydney to catch Trivium on the 21st and will be cutting it fine. Anyone know the best place to park at the Roundhouse?

In Hearts Wake - Earthwalker. Very good album, another Byron Bay band.

Yeah they are a good up and coming band. I'll be seeing them in January playing with the amity affliction and confession. Will be my 3rd amity show, first for in hearts wake. I am hoping to see an appearance from joel birch from amity during the in hearts wake set for their song earthwalker.

Yeah that song is awesome.

I'm thinking of going to that show here in Adelaide

I've always found a spot on the campus, just take the first one you come across.

Caught Trivium at the Roundhouse last night. Great show with probably the best sound I've heard at a metal gig. Got to meet the guys too which was cool.

New Machinehead is great. Been a long time coming IMO, their last 2 albums were shithouse, this new one is much like their original sound but that has matured somewhat. Really liking it. New Slipknot is great as well.

Thy art is murder are still touring around. An interesting line up with them this time as well.

Trying to convince the wife to come with me to her first metal gig (asides from a metallica show).

Not having much luck though..

You must be the only MH fan in existence that doesn't think the Blackening is jizzworthy.

New album took a lot of listens to grow on me but in the end I couldn't stop listening to it. It's no Blackening though. Now We Die and Game Over are getting a heap of plays especially.

Saw In Flames/Trivium. Trivium were sick, IF were ok, their new material is largely shite.

Also saw Dream Theater, excellent.

Finally Ne Obliviscaris, off the f**king hook, best gig and best album released this year by far.

If anyone's keen for a gig in Sydney on Friday there are 2 big ones
Dead Letter Circus with a very good Aussie prog metal band called Voyager supporting.
Thy Art is Murder with US thrashers Revocation supporting, Revocation have released one of the best albums this year.

Currently listening to Fallujah, Threshold, and Black Crown Initiate (probably 2014s best debut album).

Anyone keen to put together a Top 10 albums list? Mine will be ready next week...

How were TAIM?

Bloody awesome, my ears were ringing for days afterwards. They played "Doomed from Birth" which i havent seen them play before.

CJ said that they secretly recorded an album in New York on the end of their US tour. So it should be surfacing some stage soon. He said they aren't playing songs of it yet as they don't know them properly haha.

Excellent. Am seeing them this weekend. I'm sure my wife is going to f*cking hate it, but she said she'd come along with me anyhow.

It's going to cost me shite load of alcohol I think though.
