Retinal Circus will fix that but you'll need 2 spare hours, the link is on the previous page

Love to watch metal bands with the backing of orchestras and choirs, Dimu Borgir have a great on on Youtube if you search for Northern Lights or sumfin like that, great concert

merkins... get to the Behemoth gig on Saturday night, it's gonna be f**kin siiiick

I'm going... TBH though I'm most excited to see Bolzer, who're opening, hopefully they get a good hour or so to play and don't get shafted with a short set. Pretty awesome to get what is basically a tripe headline gig, Bolzer, Watain and Behemoth, even though I can take or leave Watain.

Trivium's new album, "Silence In The Snow", is out, and many people don't like it.

Personally, I love Matt Heafy, and his clean vocals in this album are amazing.

This, imo, is a great metal album.

I do not like it at all. Heafy has a great growl but trivium obviously want to head towards pop rock.

I just got back from parkway drive, a really great show from all the acts. Had a lot of fun in the Thy art is murder pit.

He does have a killer growl, but he also has a great voice imo.

They are trying something different, but it is not pop rock - their technique is still metal.

I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I think it's great.

Tonight, f**k yeah! If you're at the gig and you see a big ugly f**ker with a shaved head, big beard, Sinistrous Diabolus t-shirt and leather jeans drunkenly moshing to this, that'll be me. Say hi and I might buy you a beer before telling you all the bands you like suck.

Glad some one agrees with me, had this same argument with my sons and they think there is something wrong with me.

Metal for beginners.

Metal for beginners.

It is very simple, I won't deny it - but imo, it works.

I think Heafy just wanted to change things up a bit.

Not a huge fan of that vocal style but I like the music

They slayed live, best band of the night IMO. and whats really amazing is there are only two guys on stage. A bit like Inquisition in that respect, (another two piece), both bands redefine the sort of sound you'd previously have though possible from just two guys as both sound massive through a combination of awesome musicianship and well chosen guitar effects.

Was listening to this classic today, apart from stil being part of one of the all time great death metal albums, it's downright spooky how relevant the lyrics are to current events in the Catholic Church right now, considering the song is 16 years old:

Fleshgod Apocalypse - "King"

Omnium Gatherum - "Grey Heavens"

You're welcome.

King is awesome. Havent got to Omnium yet, maybe next week.

Abbath, Megadeth, Primal Fear, Holy Grail, Rhapsody of Fire have all put out good shit already this year. Heard the new Anthrax is killer too. Some people are calling Hyperion the album of the year and it's only Feb.

The other big name is Dream Theater, haven't got to it yet, but I'm really not looking forward to being disappointed by the double album of bland everyone's saying they put out.

Oh, and Primal Fear are touring Aus for the first time ever.

Got tickets for Iron Maiden in Christchurch end of April, one of the 666 @ $66.60 (back part of floor GA) released recently.
Should be fun times, haven't been to see them before, also haven't been to CHCH since before the big quakes (fingers crossed we don't get quaked on).

Also, did anyone go to the Sword/Clowns/American Sharks tour the other week? I went to the Welly show last Friday, was very mean.
Clowns in particular (who I hadn't heard of prior to gig announcement) were very impressive, my neck is still a bit stiff a week & a bit later (getting too old for headbanging I think!)....
