Yeah it's pretty good.

Has some cracking songs but some flaws.

The cons:

I don't feel it justifies a 92 minute double album length with consistent quality - could drop 2-3 songs and trim some repitition to get it under 70 mins.

Bruce's voice is obviously past its best. He can still hit the highs but sounds strained - I mostly prefer the songs where he doesn't push it quite so hard.

Finally I'm not a fan of the live style production. This is a personal perference, I've never liked listening to live albums over studio recordings. Could use some polish for me - which might have helped Bruce's vocals a bit.

BUT on the good side - Some great songs which will be constantly replayed over the years. Speed of Light is catchy as f**k, Red and the Black is a ripper that reminds me of Rime of the Ancient Mariner, When the River Runs Deep and Book of Souls close the first disc well. Empire of the Clouds to finish the 2nd disc is 18 mins of epic.

Thy Art is Murder have their new album out tomorrow. The 2 songs I have heard have been great. Probably my fave Oz band at the moment.

They have replaced Suicide Silence for the Parkway Drive tour. Line up is now Parkway Drive, Thy Art is Murder, The word Alive, Memphis May Fire.

I saw Watain a few years ago at SW. There was fire pits and flaming microphone stands.

Was the highlight of the performance tbh, woeful otherwise.

Parkway Drive put on an awesome live show as usual. Quality efforts from the support bands as well

I am going on Friday, can't wait. I hear Winston McCall sang a song with Thy art is murder and the lead singer for TAIM got on stage for a song with parkway?

Won't get to see them this time but I'm really digging IRE. They've changed a lot since the early days but I like this direction. Much better than Deep Blue and Atlas IMO.

Yeah I am loving ire as well, it is different but I am not too sure how it's different.

I wasn't a big fan of atlas, I really enjoyed deep blue and I would say ire is on par with that. My favorite is obviously horizons. Killing with a smile is great just because it's so raw and obviously not a high end production.

Parkway are hands down Australia's biggest modern day metal band, they are more popular overseas than they are here. They haven't sold riverstage out, nor did they last time, whereas the amity affliction has had one sellout there and on the verge of another. But overseas, parkway often find themselves on the main stage at various festivals drawing big crowds just like in this video http://youtu.be/YSReMZqjiCk
