As it has now been said that the refs do their homework and have tip sheets before the game suggest they are not reffing in an unbiased manner and reffing as the game plays out. By that I mean they have preconceived thoughts on what pleyers do what etc. After all, how can you have a ref give a warning to a player before kick off! Apparently this has been going on for quite a while (Finch?)

How about Matai shoving the ref earlier this year?!

Tell me he shouldn't have got at least a month on the sidelines?!

We've been copping a raping from referees like an anal addict at the annual porn stars convention ever since we dumped Brett Finch

Daddy obviously told his employees to start f**king us over in revenge and they forgot to tell them to stop when Billy took over.

We are the new Canberra.

Straight up bullshit. Stats prove that Roosters do cop it worse than every other team.

They cop it because your team is the most ill-disciplined team in the NRL. All the leg pulls, lying in the ruck and hands all over the ball are the reason your team cops so many penalties.

I agree that the Roosters were hard done by with the second try Inu scored, but it was a penalty at the play the ball if the try wasn't to be awarded because of the leg pull.

That would be true only it's been happening since 05 - multiple coaches, multiple players. It doesnt seem to matter what changes are made, the penalities remain.

I think peope are over-analysing the Roosters penalty stuff.

The answer is simple, Braith Anasta. The guy has a face people hate.

They've done studies on this shit. People vote for politicians because they have a 'good' or 'bad' face.

Refs are only human, humans hate f**kwits, Braith is a f**kwit, simple.

Yeah, but did you watch the game on Monday? Some of the things they did were just so unnecessary, especially since there were points where they were completely dominating us in the forwards(in defence).

I haven't really watched many Roosters games this season, I'm just going off Monday. They just seemed so Ill-disciplined.

I agree. The Roosters will get a better go with the refs when he's gone. Noone likes Brath. The players themselves called him the most overrated: even when he played well!

But don't underestimate his voice and his swagger. It is not just his face. It is all things Brath.

Its not Ennis, well maybe partially, but it comes down to the coach.

If he want you bagging the ref off and get him unervved,it can go a long way in helping your side.

**The news just announced that any player found abusing (Including swearing, etc) the refs can be sin-binned.

I'm not sure if the report mentioned a sending off or not.

From any point of view, getting stuck into the ref is not something they should let people get away with. He is as much a symbol out there as anything else and letting the way he is treated be eroded is a slippery slope.

I was taught the captain, and only the captain, could ask why a penalty was given and could approach and address the referee respectfully, but not badger them etc. We were not allowed to argue. The captain could ask the referee to keep an eye on something if he thought it was an issue, but that you needed to be careful how you did that and if you did that.

Having players openly and passionately in arguments with referees, swearing at or in conversations with them - it should be yellow carded and put on report.

Apart from anything else, it sends all the wrong messages to junior players and sets a terrible example.

These guys aren't angels, and they are tough guys playing a hard game, but some of the behavior towards ref's I have seen lately is crossing a line.

Karl, what you just said made too much sense to be posted on League Unlimited. Please don't do it again.

Doesn't explain why we receive far less penalties than anyone else in the league.

Team who are generally ill disciplined don't suddenly change their playing style against us, despite the penalty count saying otherwise.

It's right through the grades. The NRL could go on a respect the ref campaign and fix it overnight after a few hefty suspensions, and they should, but they won't because no one gives a shit about refs.

I reckon you'd have to be fkin mad to aspire to being a ref.

They're all shit scared of offending Hollywood or whichever obsequious clown is in charge, so they stand there and cop a mouthful rather than saying f**k that, you're off to the bin.

Steve Clarke is the only one I've seen demand respect re swearing. Refs who have balls are weeded out.

Watch union, they call the ref sir. Swearing at him or 'around' him is a quick way back to the bench.

While I agree with this, there is a reason so much disrespect is felt for referees... two reasons actually.

1. the RL media fosters it for a start. Not all players read the papers, I know, but enough would for players to pick up a mentality that refs are incompetent and lack confidence.

2. (and perhaps most importantly) it was always the case that referees were patient and often gave captains an explanation for any contentious decision... for a while there (and still from some refs) they just usher the CAPTAIN away when he's asking why - as a result we have frustrated captains who no longer trust the referee, and now want to argue the toss seeing as they're not always being offered an explanation.

I heard a Rooters fan on twitter crying about penalties, so I took the liberty of checking your pen counts throughout the year.

You've rarely if ever lost the count by more than 2 or 3, and drawn level quite a few times.

This myth of you getting caned in the penalties is just that. And watch once Anasta leaves, you might actually start winning some penalty counts...

No offence but you cant look at it so black and white. The Roosters often receive no penalties for the first 50-60 minutes and suddenly get a stack at the end when the game is already lost. Thus why it is adding to the frustration.
