They wont drop Mr Suckhole, who will do the press conferences for Rick after a tough day at the office?????

Clarkey or Katich IMO Piss Hussey off he has been rubbish since the Indian tour. He must have chocolate lips to be still in the side.

They cant drop Mr Cricket....who will do those inspiring LJ Hooker commercials?

very true Mr Saab

or those johhn walker ads, with the huss hitting some runs in the last ashes series

I sometimes wonder what obligation CA are under to keep a bloke in the side based on revenue streams they may get from sponsors. Dont think Clark is promoting anything, so no point picking him I guess

Tonight should be his last chance, but i doubt it will be. Maybe if we lose the Ashes something may be done........

As I said in the 4th Ashes Test forum, I think we head in to the final test knowing one of two things re: Mike Hussey's career: it's his farewell test (albeit earlier than he'd have liked) or it's the test that signals the form turn around ala Mark Taylor did in England before going on to equal the Don's highest Test score.

It's one of the other from where I sit. We aren't the oh-so-dominant team that can carry aging batsmen anymore unfortunately. If he fails, stick a fork in him and let's look at this: Hughes, Katich, Ponting, Clarke, North, Watson, Haddin .... [bowling attack]

I'd much prefer to be patient with a 20 y.o. destined for greatness than a 34 y.o. who has served us well in the past though shows no signs of improving.

Agreed, but Huss is one of Ponting pets. Wouldn't be suprised he plays the whole of next summer.

I can see the selectors dropping katich or North over a couple of poor tests before they do Hussey, The have proven it with Hughes :x

Hussey is playing his last test for Australia. "Mr Cricket" should now be known as "Mr Cannot Bat Anmore".

We need to go back 29 innings since Hussey last scored a century. That was in India nearly 12 months ago. Since that time he has scored 6 ducks and failed to make double figures on eleven occassions.

His record since that time reads as

Inn 28
No 1
50's 6
Runs 725
Avg 26.9

Hussy should not be picked to play tests for Australia again.

I think he played one or two more than he should have whislt we are it.

In any event, the selectors have no other choice unless of course he pulls of a miracle type innings that will ensure he gets another 12 months. It's a shame, Hussey is one of the good guys of cricket and after such a wonderful start to his career, it's a shame to see it fizzle out the way it has as the above stats highlight.

It's like playing with a player less with Hussey in the side. Might as well as name 10 instead of 11

If he was 5 or so years younger I would say give him a little more time. But he is 34. Time we moved on.
