Can't believe some are blaming hussey for losing the series. How about johnsons crap bowling in the 1st test. Or having the worst Australian captain calling the shots? Give Hussey a break. Sure he wasn't there in the 1st innings, but which batter was? He did all he could to try save that game in the 2nd innings.

Saved his career? He has to go ... Brad Hodge was dropped after a double century FFS.

We need to look to the future and there is no better time to get Hughes back in to the team and move Watson down the order to replace Hussey. Hussey isn't the future of this team, Hughes and co. can be. His last innings showed that Hussey grit, though it was a little late - timing is everything.

After 5 years in the job, first test series loss in 17rs vs SA, loss test series in India, 2005 ashes series loss,

NOW after this ashes series loss Punter says that it will make him a better captain for the future :crazy:

Hussey still needs to go IMO. He has had far too long to perform and only got a century yesterday because England felt sorry for him.

Hussey was dropped about 3 times and played and missed 1000 times, if he had of scored the 100 in the first innings fair enough, but we we're never going to chase down 540 on that pitch. Good way for him to go out.

With Jaques and Hodge sitting on the sideline it is probably time for Hussey to stick to IPL.
Shame though as he can be quite a gutsy and brilliant player.

agreed, he still looked like utter sh*t for 95% of the innings and ran his captain out just when we were looking good.

Hussey wont get dropped whilever ponting is there, just like the profession fielder Symonds and Watson...If your in with ponting then your playing tests. Just another reason why the captain needs to go, and the selectors need to start taking a much heavier role in picking sides...it was ok when it was border, taylor and waugh...they had a clue. Ponting however has none. To not pick a spinner on that wicket, the first f**king ball when through the top and we somehow overlooked the spinner??? lmao...
