Luke didn't even end up playing for them.

The reality of the lack of depth in international League means it's a good thing for guys to be able to potentially do that.

It's still not the same thing at all as choosing another country over NZ.

Only because he messed up the paperwork or whatever. Not because he had a change of heart. So that's irrelevant really.

If your missus says 'not tonight, I have a headache', so you go and root the neighbours wife, is that not cheating?

He didn't choose them over NZ. He didn't make the NZ team so there was no choice to be made. Everyone knows that.
Had Ireland chose to accept him he wouldve been playing for Ireland in the RLWC. Thats a fact. Just like the Tongans, he didnt want to play for Kidwells team. I call Kidwells team, Kidwells team and not the Kiwis. Thats not the Kiwis man, get outta here with that team.

He submitted the paperwork too late, after he found out he wasn't picked for NZ.

Lol this comparison is too ridiculous to justify with much of a response.

It's beneficial for competition in international League for someone like Luke to be to play in that situation.

You asked if people would have a problem with Luke. The answer is no. For a very simple reason, he didn't choose another country over NZ.

Dozens of former Kiwis have turned out for island teams, people don't have a problem with it. People have a problem when you choose another country over New Zealand.

That is where the line is drawn, when you choose to play for another country over playing for New Zealand.

You know full well if he had been picked then he'd play for the Kiwis and that's why there's no comparison to make.

Guys like Taumalolo had the option, NZ or Tonga. They chose Tonga.

Luke had Ireland or nothing.

Again, you need to be pretty dense to not see the difference.

All these excuses for when the shoe is on the other foot. Theyre just excuses, facts are facts - theres no difference in Luke choosing Ireland and the Tongans choosing the Tongans. They made their choice.

Except there's a huge difference.

The Tongan's chose Tonga over NZ.

Luke didn't choose anyone over NZ.

It's a giant difference.

You can be as desperate as you want to grasp at this straw to back up your argument but it doesn't for the very simple fact above. Your bold text doesn't change that.

Don't go past the fact that he chose to play for Ireland. Regardless of whether he didnt make the kiwis, he still chose to play for Ireland. You guys say 'its kiwis or nothing' and now look...

That's the point. What we actually say is you chose another country over NZ so f**k off.

You still haven't figured this out but it's very simple.

Nobody is debating what he said, people are giving their thoughts on it.

Disagreeing with something isn't crying. Your immaturity is showing.

No need for immature put downs. Thats the first sign of imaturity is resorting to put downs. Keep it classy.

Oh lol, you were the first one to use put downs lol.

McGuire has opened the door get use to it lol.

I'm just happy McGuire is STRENGTHENING our team. Opening the door to the Tongans is expanding our depth. Its also fixing a situation where the Kiwis could lose out on having Tongans play for them in the future. Samoans might follow suit. Cant do that to the islanders, theyre kiwis too.

"put downs" are we in primary school lol?

You've been talking about people crying and sulking because they don't agree constantly.

Did you get used to Kidwell's decisions because he was the coach? Clearly not because you're still "crying" about them right now.
