Middle 8’s

Identical to the Leeds game. Missed opportunity to go in front early in the second half then mistakes and fatigue sets in.

Good effort. Going to be hard for them to promote in coming seasons.
Totally disagree, especially if Toronto reach super league as they won’t have to play super league sides in the middle 8’s to win promotion.

All Toulouse need is some squad depth and 1 or strike players. Preferably from the NRL.

Depends how the playoffs are structured as even if they finish first I bet the final would be held in England which they may struggle over a long season. Next season would be their best shot with a few teams becoming weaker but still need a few good buys in the off season.

The highest placed team in the middle 8’s gets the home tie but it won’t matter because Toulouse won’t make the MPG.

If Toronto go up then I would make Toulouse favourites but only if they add depth to their squad and sign 1 or 2 quality NRL players. Leigh won’t challenge, Widnes will need a few years to recover while teams like Halifax will fall short due to being part-time. Toulouse’s main rivals will be London and maybe feverstone.

I hope they can recruit well especially with the interest in French rugby league at the moment. But so far each season they've been in the English comp they have choked at important times. I would find them promoting easier in a middle 8's situation than a one off match but ultimately I think SL will go with 14 teams with them included in that. Would've been great if they did promote this season and have a Catalan vs Toulouse match to open SL next season, would've been a dream come true for a lot of us fans.

Talking about playoffs from 2019 and beyond.

If Toulouse finish top of the championship in 2019 they will be promoted into super league for the 2020 season. There’s no playoff, it’s straight up 12th in super league relegated and 1st in the championship promoted.

I also hope super League is increased to 14 teams but it all depends on tv funding. I can’t honestly see super League chairmen voting to cut their money from the tv deal.

I thought it was the winner of a playoff series.

I think the most likely outcome this week will be London at home to Toronto in the mpg. There's a points differential of 27 in Toronto's favour from the last round, but I'm thinking a TWP loss tonight and a healthy London win tomorrow v fax will see it work out like this. Can't see Widnes beating Hull kr
