Hahaha, unreal from @The Realist .Regarding the game overall, only Fish can hold his head up high. The rest were somewhere between very average and bad.
It also proves in my mind that this team is going well due to the power of it's stacked roster - not it's coaching or systems.
A depleted Storm and Roosters are still capable of crushing bottom 6 teams and competently taking on any team that isn't top tier.
We are not.
I was clearly wrong about May - I don't want to see him at 7 again and to be honest only at 6 besides a dominant half if injury or suspension occurs. He is simply too large and slow for the position and that coupled with almost zero kicking game means he is no real threat - the defence can simply stand off him.
Crichton - big $$$ small impact. Not sure why he always insists of palming down a single defender from a near standing start when other defenders are there to wrap him up anyway. Just leads to little metres gained and a slow PTB.
Momorovski - a good stand in centre but I honestly don't want him to be anything other than a short term fix.
Kikau - needs to fix his ball security. Is losing the ball regularly 1-2 times a game, along with other problems such as defensive lapses.
Hopgood, Sorensen - both look good off the bench play with our dominant pack. Both ordinary tonight along with L.Smith and Eisenplod. They don't hold a candle to either Liam Martin or Capewell.
Edwards - stop trying to be a play maker - You suck at it. Anyone who thinks he is a top 8 or even top 10 Fullback needs to look at this game.
Burton - looked like our most dangerous player but clearly training and playing in the centres has left his halves skills rusty. His kicking game got more ragged as the game went on. In the last 20 or so - it turned into Diabolical. A night to forget for him. This game would give nightmares to Trent Barrett and Diehard Doggies fans.
We need to start in the pack. We had little go forward- Leniu is not up to the hype, Eisenhuth was well-controlled & our edges were ineffective on the end of slow ball.
& Edwards looked like he came back a week early from his hamstring injury.
Really we just saw the result of replacing half the team with part-timers. The guys coming in haven't played enough NRL minutes so we lacked cohesion & rhythm. Guys like Sorensen, May, Momo & Leniu are reserve-graders - yet we started them all last night. And our bench was as inexperienced as it gets.
I remember watching the baby Broncos years ago - they'd regularly get their arses smacked. We got ours smacked last night. But it will be forgotten come September/October...
