Millward has to be given credit for the signing of Rava. Another tick next to Millward. If only he had the power to recruit a new coach.
If Ravalawa is the like for like replacement of Macdonald or Nightingale Millward stuffed up again. We are now in round 15 of a 26 round season and Ravalawa had a good game against a very ordinary NQ side. I'd say that Ravalawa would be the good reserve grade backup for a top NRL winger but hopefully keeps improving game by game to eventually become a good NRL winger/centre.

When Millward provides SGI with good to very good NRL players for each of 1he 17 positions and then promising fringe first graders / juniors for the remaining 13 top 30 positions then he will get a thumbs up from me.

In a season of despair it is easy to be critical all the time but one has try and be to be objective and give credit where credit is due.
Ravalawa has improved and is to be applauded for that.
Obviously he is not a top class winger (yet) but he has shown more in his limited time than many other imposters have despite having multiple seasons under their belt.
Let's just take a breath and acknowledge something positive about him and his efforts rather than trying to say that which he is not.
Well done and I look forward to seeing more from the Bula Bulldozer.
For the record his bullocking runs have the strength of Aitken (Aitken's best and probably only really attribute) however Rava also has a great pass, some vision and even a little kick and even now less mistakes in him so just maybe he might become a centre.
Anyway good luck to the young fellow I wish him every success and look forward to his progress.

. Old Timer agree with this ...... I put my hand up I for one was critical of him , still not convinced fully yet , but I hope he continues to develop his game .......

I was attempting to suggest this on another thread. There are glimpses there of a good player - and this applies to all of the wingers and a number of others in the team. However we are hampered by the ability of the coaching staff to expand on those skills and to develop game plans that utilise those skills where applicable. Getting the ball to the edge early, giving them room, kicking early in some cases etc. We just don't do this enough. As we know, it's one out stuff until the last play where we either put the kick in or do a sweeping move to the edge which is predictable.

I really don't think we have a bad team. They are just restricted by the people coaching them.

Just remember everyone on here was calling McDonald slow, slow to react and questioned his defense, when he first arrived.

Just give Rav and Pearson sometime and they will be fine. We need to sort out our centre and fullback issue - they are our real problem.

Exactly.

WIng is not a position where we should go out and spend big coin. Plenty of clubs have have gotten by with players like Rava and Pearson and and spent time developing them. They have the potential to be good wingers but I fear we don't have the coaching smarts to bring out their best. But they should be persisted with.

I agree if we're going to spend big, fullback and centre is where I'd be looking. And we don't even need a big name. A smart pick up like Nikol Klokstad would have been ideal for instance.

I don’t know why, Pigeon.
Then perhaps you need to ask yourself why you feel the need to do this..

- Is it a case of insecurity?
- Do you revert to insults when you can’t find an answer?
- Are you simply reflecting the behaviours others display to you?
- Are you looking for friends and trying the whole pigtail pulling act that kids do?
- Do you feel threatened by others?

It’s a safe space here, you can open up..

This is interesting.. So from what I can see here there is further deflection rather than addressing the issue.

It’s not a major problem, you can generally remediate using mindfulness..

Some may say it’s a buzzword, but to really address what makes oneself tick, it is advised by experts to take some time to relax, put aside all the stresses of the world and just focus on what’s around you.

Do you have a beach or river nearby? Being near water often helps..
