MILESTONES FOR MICK AND ERIC
7 April 2006
Sunday's (9 April) Round 5 match against the Penrith Panthers at Parramatta Stadium will hold special significance for two of the Parramatta Eels favourite sons.
Michael Vella will play his 150th First Grade match for the Eels, whilst winger Eric Grothe will play his 50th match in the top grade for Parramatta.
28 year old Vella made his First Grade debut for Parramatta in 1998 and has played 10 State of Origin matches for New South Wales, and 5 tests matches for Australia.
Grothe made his First Grade debut for Parramatta in 1999, and capped off a stellar 2005 season with selection in the Australian squad for the Tri-Series, making his international debut against France.

it's almost a tragedy that Eric has only played 50 first grade games for the club, hed he ever some goodluck he would of been up there with Vella's Caylo's and hindy's
