Ummm, sorry no - at his best he's in the top 4, only question is the order... nobody beyond Stewart there is in the same class as Minichello at his best... and Minichello >Stewart

Jarryd Hayne,Greg Inglis and Izzy Folau are the 3 most naturally gifted atheltic freaks at the FB role in any Rugby code in the modern era,the Stewarts,Slaters,Mini's,Mullins etc etc are great but there not up in the big 3's league.

The big 3 have the x factor and the wow factor and prob anyone other type of factor that exists.

Rosenfeld is clearly a troll.

That post should make it pretty obvious. Seriously, a global tv audience because of SJs Laotian mum. Nice trolling...

I don't even know what "x factor" means. Well I do, but... GI has probably had two or three "x factor" moments this year.

Give me Slater's consistent week to week brilliance over him anyday.

Hayne is different. At his best he is freakishly consistent with his "freakishness". He's everything GI should be. But his body of work over the last 5 years still pales in comparison to Slaters.

And neither GI or Hayne have had anything like the 3 year period Mini had between 03-05 (which only injury interrupted). A period where he won every Origin series, Test Series, Player of the Origin Series and Player of the Tri Nations Tour Awards and a Golden Boot for worlds best player.

Hayne

2006 Dally M rookie of the year
2007 Dally M winger of the year
2007 Brad Fittler Medal
2008 Brad Fittler Medal
2009 Dally M fullback of the year
2009 Dally M player of the year
2009 International player of the year

How's that for a 4 year period?

Why are people trying to prove a point about Hayne?

This is about Mini retiring, okay they played the same position, who cares who was better? This isn't a comparison thread.

Mini had a great career unfortunately blighted by injury. I enjoyed watching the count, RL will miss him

The Warriors have support in New Zealand obviously, in England because of Sam Tomkins and in Asia, particularly Laos, because of Shaun Johnson (whose mother is Lao).

Albert, there are 6.6 million people in Lao PDR.

Apart from a few expats and 17 laotians who play rugby and have been exposed to rugby league, exactly zero watch NRL let alone know what rugby league is.

You and Aragorn are the two worse warriors supporters to have ever graced this league forum. You bring shame to our club supporters. Please stop posting your crap.

Mini = legend.

Albert = tosser.

Minichiello is a true great of the game, he changed the way fullbacks play but was unfortunatley struck down by injury in his prime. To his credit returned and was still able to contribute at a competative level, his support play through the middle and his blistering ball returns in his early years are now relfective in players such as Slater, Snake and Tedesco. Mini should be proud of his achievements.

One of the greats and as people say a really decent fellow too.

On the other mentioned fullbacks they are all great fullbacks except for GI.
While he is a great player he does not communicate enough nor get involved enough to be compared to the others as a fullback, there is so much more to being a fullback

Villa's assault on Freddie Fittler was a despicable assault which would have resulted in him being sent off in 2014.

There was plenty of life in the game, because of Stacey Jones's brilliant try and the Mullins try.

Anyway there are two different teams this year (except for former Golden Boot Minichiello) and the talent on display -- from Laos to England to Samoa -- would be breathtaking.

It was wonderful. Put some life into a f**king horrible game. Stop bullshitting yourself or at least punish yourself and watch a replay.

Lol. He is easily the best player in the game. Fullback, centre or even 5/8 where he won RLIF 5/8 of the year, the Golden boot and the Clive Churchill medal. He can play better than anyone in the world in whatever position he wants. I wouldn't mind getting odds about him getting the Clive Churchill again this year at fullback. You are kidding yourself.

Picking a player whose team is not even playing on the day would be a bold choice, but given how completely random the aussie selectors are with their choices I wouldn't put it past them

Dugan in NOT a very good fullback, he lacks skill. He's a centre for sure. Yeah he can do a job in the NRL at fullback but not for NSW or the 'Roos.

GI was a rubbish 5/8 at Melbourne and hardly got involved in the centres, Rabbits fans were blowing up early on when he was in the centres, wasn't getting involved at all; His a good player but the best in any position, got to be joking.

2006 RLIF Rookie Of The Year - Centre
2007 Clive Churchill Medal
2008 Dally M Five-Eighth Of The Year
2008 Dally M Representative Player Of The Year - Centre
2008 Peter Frilingos Memorial Award - Award for a headline, hardly relevant
2008 RLIF Five-Eighth Of The Year
2009 Dally M Representative Player Of The Year - Centre
2009 Golden Boot Award - Centre
2009 Harry Sunderland Medal - Centre
2009 RLIF Centre Of The Year - Centre
2009 Ron McAuliffe Medal - Centre
2009 Wally Lewis Medal - Centre

He may have won every award in the game but the majority were for his games as a centre. He won 3 awards that can be attributed to him as a 5/8.

Majority of the time he was at 5/8 Melbourne were behind the scenes trying to find a permanent 5/8 and shift him back to centres, he won those awards because his a bloody good player not because of his ability to play 5/8, only thing he had was he could put up a big high ball.
