Minichiello retires

No, it isn't.

I've spoken to people on three continents who are dreaming of such a grand final between the Roosters and the Warriors.

The Roosters have a huge following in France, because of the Rooster emblem and the French national colours, and because of Remi Casty. They have support in Italy because of Minichiello and Guerra. And they have support in New Zealand because of Sonny Bill Williams, Jared Wharea-Hargreaves, Sam Moa, Shaun Kenny-Dowell and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. And they have support in Australia because everyone there knows how glamourous Bondi is.

The Warriors have support in New Zealand obviously, in England because of Sam Tomkins and in Asia, particularly Laos, because of Shaun Johnson (whose mother is Lao).

This Grand Final clash would garner a massive global television audience.

Beautiful.

Sorry to put a dampner on it, don't think he ever should have won the Golden Boot, hands not quite good enough to win that award in my opinion. But then again Wally Lewis' passing to his right was dodgy wasn't it? Any footage of W Lewis passing to his right somewhere to prove me wrong on that please? Would love to be proved wrong that Lewis couldn't spin pass to his right. Granted, really good tumble passes can be as equally effective as a spin pass.

Geez, what a f**king horrible GF these two clubs played years ago. Thank god for Villa's attack on Fitler to put a bit of life in it. Any other teams this year please.

Villa's assault on Freddie Fittler was a despicable assault which would have resulted in him being sent off in 2014.

There was plenty of life in the game, because of Stacey Jones's brilliant try and the Mullins try.

Anyway there are two different teams this year (except for former Golden Boot Minichiello) and the talent on display -- from Laos to England to Samoa -- would be breathtaking.

The 2002 was not a good watch, saw it the other week.

'03, '04 and '05 much better. But '06-'08 weren't up to much, especially '06, couple of good spread play tries in it, but that was it.

2009, was good, 2010 ok, 2011 again quite boring, sorry NZ Warriors supporters, but it's just my opinion, 2012, excellent defensive display by the M Storm, and 2013, well, it was entertaining in a bit of a strange way, and Cherry-Evans was rightly awarded the Clive Churchill Medal.

Geez he was good back in the day. I'd take the '05 Mini over any other make n model of fullback on the market! Such a shame about his back

Sooner have the two best teams in the GF tbh... but not sure why this is the talk anyway...

Minichello is an all time great... real shame about the injuries

You'd think the SFS would be a sell-out for Mini's final official home game against the Rabbitohs in round 26.

But the f**kwits at the NRL allowed this game to be scheduled for a friggin Thursday night.

As a Rooster I've criticised Mini on many occasion but I wish him all the best for his future and thank him for his loyalty and commitment to the club.

For all you non Roosters criticising Mini, suck yourselves off, especially you toothless lol @ souffs fans.

Chook.

Agreed, but amazingly even at his best he'd struggle to make the top 4 fullbacks currently playing NRL, such is the FB talent currently running around.

Slater, Hayne, GI, Mini, Snake, Barba, Milford, Pomkins, Gordon, Moltzen, Dugan.

Dugan? Yeah he's so good a fullback, his coach plays him in the centres

A great player in his time and a true roosters legend. Sending him out a winner is a long shot but making 300 games would be a sensational effort from someone who missed close to 3 seasons through injury.

Well I've spoken to heaps of people at the three pubs I drink at, at least the ones lucid enough to mumble. The consensus is the same in all. They would rather poke themselves in the eye with a fork than watch Uncle Nicks uniquely salary cap managed c**ks play in another GF. And the local Laotian restaurant owner I spoke to kept telling me they didn't serve Rugby League, but offered me a complimentary sticky rice with every order over $50.00.

I'd call you a moron but I don't issue insults on forums, and it would be an insult to morons to compare you to them.

That post from Albert was one of the funniest I've see. Until I read Chooks.

Anyway, thanks for the memories Mini. One of he great Roosters and probably top 3 of my all time favourites.

At his peak he was simply a phenomenal player and I think most forget how good he was. Still holds his own and if nothing else I really hope he can crack 300 games.

Great player in his day, shame he played for the Roosters cause he seems like a good bloke.
