Misi Taulapapa - the biggest grub of them all

I really don't see the point about Weyman either. Even if he was a cheap shot merchant does that mean that its fair game for other sides to cheap shot someone like Alan Tongue and no raider fan is allowed to complain. If that was the case Shark supporters wouldn't ever be allowed to complain about foul play considering the amount of cheap shot merchants that play in that side.

It was a pretty blatant cheap shot, one of the worst this year at least. People were complaining about the Wing incident, but at least Craig Wing was attacking with the ball, you could make an argument that Riley Brown was just going in to complete a tackle, but I can't think of a single justification for Taulapapa going in like that.

Things like that is what the send off rule should be used for, if that isn't an attempt to deliberately injure an unaware player, what is?

For starters, they complain WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT EVERYTHING.

Secondly, most are saying it was a cheap shot, but that the original post exaggerated it.

Rest of the season? Fugging please. What Ross did in Round 2 was far worse and he got eight weeks.

3-4 weeks will suffice, maybe 5-6 tops.

Yeah, somewhere in the range of 3-5 weeks is probably what I would say is fair. From what I gather it looks like Tongue will be out for about 3 weeks himself.

I reckon the Sharks should use the Dragons on field defense of Wes Naiqama - "he doesn't know the rules, sir!".

Far from a very low dog act i thought it was just a brain explosion. Tongue was performing the ritual act of driving his ball-carrying teammate that extra yard downfield as is common practice these days.

And i reckon Misi got carried away and tried to stop the Albino from helping his teammate out...only he went too far.

No malicious intent IMO. Just a brain snap...we're all susceptible to them. I recall playing soccer once and, whilst defending in the penalty area the ball arrived at my feet and my respsone was to, inexplicably, pick the bloody thing up! To this day i just dont know what went through my head. It was just a brain snap.

I sympathise, Misi.

Either that or for a split second he mistook Alan Tongue for Silas from the Da Vinci code. So in an act of self-defesne he may have been trying to tighten the cilice around the albino's leg.

he should have been sent off. i know raiders players have been sent off for far less than that. that ridiculous woolford send off against manly a few years ago comes to mind. but like skeepe said - there is one rule for sydney teams and another rule for raiders/warriors/cowboys/storm. The AFL does exactly the same with melbourne teams always given the rub of the green.

Was the brain snap picking up the ball or playing soccer?

Oh dear God LOL.

Then why did Sydney Cuthbo get sent off vs Raiders in a tackle that you see normally just put on report?

Did you actually see it?

Tongue was the TACKLER. One of Misi's teammates had the ball.

And to all those who think I'm deluded, Ricky Stuart takes the cake on this one:

"It was unfortunate but Misi was trying to stop the tackle going backwards or over the sideline," Stuart said. "It is common - you see it every week."

bullsh*t. Misi saw Alan Tongue's ribs were open, drove his shoulder into them, then pushed Tongue out of the way. If he was going in to stop the tackle's momentum, he would have actually made contact with his own teammate and pushed. Ricky is having a laugh if he thinks he can justify it.

The problem with the incident was that it could only have been an attempt to land a cheap shot on Alan Tongue. There was no other reason to go in like that besides to attempt to hurt the opposition.

It wasn't like a high tackle or something that was a bit lazy, it was a full on hit on a player who wouldnt have been expecting one, because he was in defence.

I mean rest of the season is a bit much, but its certainly an incident that does deserve a decent suspension.

Key points there, it was cheap, illegal, and he deserves to miss a few weeks, I think rubbing him out for as long as we miss tongue should be sufficient for that, not something he'd sit out the season for though imo

My mistake. I only briefly saw the replay on fox. So Misi was the one trying to help his own teammate then. Same theory, only with the shoe on the other foot.

I agree with Sticky's interpretation.

Yes because he would say that Misi deserved to be suspended for so many weeks. Get a grip!

You have to expect that from Stuart. I remember when Morley almost took Mark McLindon's head off in a game a few years back and Stuart claimed that McLindon was diving.

While it stands to reason that they'll be out similar periods, I strongly disagree with the length of injury correlating to the length of suspension. Sometimes it doesn't match up with the crime. I mean it in a general sense btw, not this particular instance.

yet Moi Moi got one week? How the f**k can you justify that. One half- back early gets a eye socket smashed while nothing happened to the other half.
its just bullsh*t conspiracy brought up by so called experts.

misi has aclean record...no suspension.

I disagree with you there, Moi Moi hit high, but Ross' was MUCH worse. In regards to Misi, I think 3-4 weeks should be sufficient.
