Mitchell "Passenger" Pearce

Origin level, especially against this current Qld mob who are the Maroons greatest ever, is about two or three steps up in class from NRL football. No more is this so than it is for halfbacks.

And Pearce isn't good enough to dominate at that level. He has the potential to be solid, but be a matchwinner? Rarely.

Cant blame the man for that ...it's not as if he doesn't bust his arse trying. He just ain't in Thurston's class.

At club level however he was a beast in 2013 ... it's at a level where he can dominate. Not to mention he's in a great team with a great coach so he can develop combinations.

He'd be a top 3 NRL halfback for sure (with JT at 5/8). Both he, Cronk and DCE are way above the rest atm. But don't let that get in the way of a good mindless bashing of the bloke.

Rubbish kicking game and failing to pass to the outside backs, yet he is still the best we've got apparently.

His kicking game isn't great but I reckon he has the best passing game of any halfback in the comp. His long passing game in particular is truly great. But it's the timing of those passes, drawing defenders etc that sets the likes of Johns apart from Mitchell.

Probably the least deserving ring bearer in years.

Shane Perry played the best game of his career in that grand final. Kicked superbly and defended like a beast. Almost the CC medal winner and token grand final Kangaroo selection.

His only fault was that he was behind 33 other players.

This is in the NRL section, isn't it??..

At NRL level this year Mitchell was fantastic..

With the quality in the Roosters team at NRL level I would have been fantastic as the half back this year. Pearce is shit , end of story. That the kid is even considered for rep footy says so much about the void of good halves these past years.

Least deserving premiership winning halfback in years who was crucial in defeating the salary cap rorting Storm.

Not even the 2013 Roosters could have pulled that off, and wake me when the Knights are anywhere near the Grand Final again without someone named "Johns" being in their halves.

I really don't understand the obsession people on this forum have with this bloke. He must be the most talked about player on here, which makes absolutely no sense given he doesn't do anything to stir the pot (in the things he says) and he has never had a genuine shocker (of the Paul Cariage/Lote Tuqiri in origin/Darren Lockyer's first test for Australia variety).

What do the knights & Johns have to do with this thread ?

Of course the 2013 Roosters couldn't have managed that feat, here is a clue. 7 years difference.

Surely it can't be as simple as someone offering an opinion on a player who isn't 1/2 the player passenger pearce is, especially when it's a former great, Bronco premiership winning halfback. Surely you're not that precious.

Pearce at least does what he does without being primed by the fairies

I don't know what anyone supporting this thread is claiming, I'm just rattling the cage of any f**kwit who says Pearce doesn't deserve what he has done his best to achieve . . . not sure I'd agree with any better halfback who denigrated him let alone a confliguration of forumers
