The Harry Trigaboff connection to our club has always interested me. What exactly does he contribute to the club? I assume he would in some way but not in the ways someone like Russell Crowe did or Uncle Nick still does. Trigaboff's financial muscle would blow Uncle Nick right out of the water.
How we have not successfully harnessed his brand to put our club on a better footing after all these years is beyond me.
He strikes me as someone who would be hard to get a dollar out of. Im thinking he may think along the lines of the rest of us....why give these idiots stacks of money to blow? He may well be waiting for management to be....competent.

😂😂😂 but what else do you give a bloke who can basically buy the country if he wanted it?

BTW, I think they got it (his financial support)?

I'd think at least take the guy out for lunch or to a corporate box at a game as minimum.

If you're going to give Tigers gear, maybe a personalised signed jersey (maybe he has a heap already?) would go further than something you've just grabbed from the gift shop on the way out.

Just had a look at the first 2 eps, and the mind boggles how we agreed to get involved in this.

The positive is that it's obvious madge is passionate and all in. You would expect that but it's good to know. That's where the good news ends and without trying to be jocular there is no more good news and the bad news only gets worse.

It shows madge to be a barely literate communicator, or maybe he's operating at the only level the players can understand. Either way it doesn't fill me full of confidence. Doesn't show his support staff in any sort of intelligent light.

There was not one time during his many player addresses they got excited as a group and responded positively to what he was saying. As a matter of fact they didn't respond at all. This confirms what we have all been thinking. The players couldn't give a rats.

As you pointed out Stryker we get to see very little of important things like training and team meetings, which I would have loved to see. I'm pretty confident it just would have shown the same shit attitude.

While we continue to field a team that isn't close to first grade quality but gets compensated in the many hundreds of thousands we will flounder. The players have way too much power and make way too much money with no accountability.
The players didn’t look like they had much power. I agree with the rest of your post except I don’t think it’s that the players don’t give a rats. I think they just don’t like or trust Madge and his manic prophesies etc. (and haven't for a while) Especially the other players who are not in Madges “we will base the future of the club around these 5 players” club. Do other good coaches splash that in the “others” faces like that.

One of the things that really grates for me with Madge, and Ive seen him do this a lot. If they have a good game he is quick to say that’s because the team just did what we did at training ..in other words if they listen to me they will win. To me it’s a sign of a desperate coach needing to take the credit for success’s so he can go around again. Then when the defence etc is shit he won’t take the credit for that instead he will humiliate the team in front of the media expecting that to work and taking the heat off himself..And it appears to be working for Madge. However not great for a working relationship or future results on the field.

Did you not see the doco? They gave him a signed jersey with his name and No1 on it, I think it was the indigenous jersey?

That is BS.
When they win {not often} I consistently hear Madge say "that's what this playing group is capable of". His trying to tell them concentrate, make an effort and believe in your self and look what happens. Remember none of these players have won a premiership....Madge has.

Yea but that’s not overwhelming evidence that mine is BS. Obviously Madge has got to praise the players etc I just see the difference between a strong confident coach and a coach neading to prove himself is the strong coach will just leave it at that and leave the praise with the players instead of having to take some back with “They followed my instruction from training” Those arnt the words he used but that’s the meaning…

Madge won a premiership 7 years ago with some rare talent available. That doesn’t fill me with confidence like it does for some.

He also got ejected from the same club because his extreme methods turned the players off him. For some reason WT thought oooh we need that type of coach..We don’t
