So we're expected to believe that in one of the most highly populated (and popular) areas of Sydney, the Roosters cannot do better than a handful of junior clubs?

Whilst the Eastern Suburbs might be more densly populated the sad fact is it is populated with young single people, professionals, backpackers etc. There arent many families that can afford to raise kids and pay $400 pw for 1-2 bedroom unit when the can move out west in a house for half the price. Local schools are struggling to get the numbers to fill classes and 3 high school have merged already due to lack of children in the area. It's not due to the lack of trying by the Roosters there numbers are low, it's a demographic issue and they are dealing with it the only way they can.

Is this not the ultimate proof that a merger with another club or relocation is the only viable option for the Roosters?

What ever happened to the rule that each club had to have a certain level of junior players?

Conviently swept under the carpet?

By whom?

You roosters fans continually shoot yaselves in the foot.
You all have no qualms bragging about being the only foundation club left yet you then proclaim that the eastern suburbs is more union orientated well what the hell has your club been doing for the last 96 years, surely a club that has been around for that amount of time would have a good junior infrastructure in place.

Oh thats right, dont your so called junior clubs play in the souths juniors competition????

Such a Proud Tradition

:?: Why? We're representing an area and those who reside in it and have done so for 96 years. Just cause there arent that many families living there anymore doesnt mean it's a ghost town.

How old are you? Cause you obviously can't read. Just beacuse the demographics in the area have changed and there arent as many kids around anymore doesnt mean we dont have a proud tradition.
The labelling of 'Union' is due to the area having a number of private schools who are union orientated, not so much the residents. Most of these private schools are alos in fact boarding schools.
But you wouldnt know that cause you're just another sheep who bleets first cause the others have without thinking for yourself

Actually i have always had the same sentiments towards the roosters, even before the internet was available and even before your recent successes as a club. They will always be considered a transit lounge IMO.
At the end of the day though, getting a bite like i just seemingly have out of you tri-coloured fans is really all im aiming for, you are more fun ;-)

The best solution would be if the poorer clubs could increase revenue but thats probably been put in the to hard basket.
That's the logical solution. Clubs like the Broncos, Bulldogs, Roosters, Penrith and Parramatta are strong financially. They have the right people running the club. It's up to the other clubs to pull their fingers out and join the race rather than whinge and ask for assistance. Rugby league is a business and has been for some time.

All you people calling for a salary cap on lower grades.
How is it going to work when different clubs have different lower grade comps and teams or none?

simple solution is all teams have ONE feeder club, playing 1st divvy, flegg (or equivalent), etc.. and they all have the same salary cap.

not too hard...

So your telling St George, Illawarra, Wests and Tigers they have to fold one of their teams?
Your telling Cronulla, Brisbane, Storm, Auckland and the Cowboys they have to find another comp to play in or start funding teams they aren't already?

Who is going to pay the extra travel costs for these teams. The Storm is going to have to start flying there juniors around. Or are you going to suggest having juniors based in another city to the first grade team? A sure way of destroying a club.
