Nothing bullshit about it.

Austin was let go for good reason.

How is it not bullshit?

Moses has done absolutely nothing to prove that he was ahead of Austin. Moses has huge potential, don't get me wrong, but he is too young to be directing our team around the park.

We all bought in to this bullshit fairytale of Brooks and Moses being the next best thing. Maybe one day they will. When they have 100 games between them in a team where they aren't under immense pressure to organize everything.

And to your second point, what was this good reason that Austin was let go? He was performing too well? He didn't quite fit into the fairytale more like it.

LOL mate you are just backing up my point. You have created this fairytale that these are the players that will win us a premiership. Three of those 5 players don't have 50 games between them. Lets not hype them up until they have toughed out season after season.

Yeah Austin had the wrong attitude to be at the WT...a never say die winning attitude:sarcasm:

Exactly. We don't want high performance or players who put in game after game. We want to tell an epic story of how the youngsters game through SG Ball and Under 20s and now all playing together and will win a premiership together like we did in 2005.

I just had a look at the 2005 team Brother Jim and it is what we have all been calling for....a blend of youth and experience.

Brett Hodgson had more than a few years under his belt, Prince was an experienced player, Marshall was just starting to come good and so too Farah. Hodgson scored over 300 points that year himself if I recall correctly....

If you think about our left side attack Paul Whatuira and Richards (when he had legs) scored a million points between them. Compare it to now!!!!

Anyway, my point is it was a nice blend, not just the kids we have running around now.

Rule changes in the pre-season worked massively in our favour in 2005 as well.

Yep they might and it's just a might, win the premiership in a couple of years. The 3 really do need extra games plus it won't be all in the photo, I' sure.

Farah will be gone and they will have Manaia Cherrington as the 9. Robbie will slowly slowly transition out of his role and may even end up as the 13 to help these kids get there.

There's more chance of a Victoria's Secret model seeking my phone number for a dirty weekend than us winning a premiership over the next decade with this apparent great junior talent we are supposed to have.

We mustn't get to far ahead of ourselves as we will be lucky to scrape into the finals just once over the next few yrs with this bunch of over-rated rabble.

Must reinforce the fact that a number of these young guys currently playing nrl for us are never going to fulfill there potential. The disparity between sg ball/holden cup & 1sts is to vast for many talented juniors to successfully make the transition.

Right now the only one of our talented youngsters who is the real deal is teddy & if it wasn't for the round 13 clause re contracts binding then this extremely moronic club would have lost him.

Have faith? We stuffed up. Choosing Moses over Austin was clearly a mistake. The question now is how long do we persist trying to make this mistake work before we cut our losses and start the next re-building phase...

Don't bag off his crush though... :sarcasm:

It's not like either half is playing well (particularly moses) but wait till the forward pack is sorted before any rash decisions. You've still looked strong when Woods Tapau are out there, but beyond that there isn't much in the way of established, tough forwards in the club.

I'm not sure there is reason to have faith that the club will sort that out, given their recruitment and retention performance in the last 5 years or so (Pretty much from when they let Gibbs and others go to get Blair on overs) but I don't think the younger players are helped at all by that lack of any decent go forward.

Brooks has something like 10 try assists this year. He has shown moments where he is a genuine 1st grade half back.

Hopefully Keith will be gone next year. If the rumour mill is to be believed, Keith and Rowdy to ESL, and we will sign Idris and Pauli Pauli. We are still a strike prop short imo.

1/ Teddy
2/ Nofo
3/ Simona
4/ Idris
5/ Kev
6/ Moses (wish it was Austin but stuck with him sadly)
7/ Brooks
8/ Marty
9/ Farah
10/ Woodsy
11/ Pauli Pauli
12/ Lovett (Better than Sironen but wish we had better - Bodene would look great here)
13/ Sue

14/ Lodge
15/ Ava
16/ INSERT STRIKE FRONT ROWER HERE (Someone like Fifita. A shame Klemmer doesn't want to come)
17/ Cherrington

This I would like to see. And we have to hope Idris wants to play footy for us, not make up the numbers as he is inclined to do

I'd actually give Lawrence an extra year as a backrower. We aren't in a position where we can lose him, given he has performed much better up front and better than any other back rowers this year.

Buy a back rower and a centre for 2016.
then a back rower and a prop for 2017.

For Cap reason they are hoping Rowdy and Keith take ESL deals

I am not sold on Idris. But people said Scott Prince was a gamble too with his injuries and he came good. I just hope Idris doesn't perform like Owen Craigie instead..

I dont get the push to out Rowdy now that he is playing half decent football in the back row,he actually is better than some of the so called back rowers already at the club after only a month of playing there.

The salary cap problem would be more Farah on $900k p.a than Lawrence. No idea what Galloway would be on, but I assume no more than Lawrence.

More than few existing WT players should not have their contacts renewed this season. Most would be on base NRL salary but that should make some $$$ available before we have to shop around players.

Lawrence's loyalty discount takes his salary down a bit. What players are chewing up our cap though?
