Gower has achieved just about everything the Rugby League has to offer. He's captained a team to a GF win (and would have been the Dally M Player of the Year that same year had it not been for the RLPA), played the game with a bone literally sticking out of his wrist (against Newcastle in 2002) and has represented at all levels.
Hell, he's even captained Australia to a test victory (and yes I know it was against France)
I fail to see why he would be overrated - but hey that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I know he hasn't been at his best over the past season but he's had a terrible run of injuries.
I do, however, agree with you on Luke Covell. He is an average player at best and it seems strange that he's being treated like a god by some of these Sharks fans - then again, they really don't have much to celebrate do they?
