It may be just me but the term "X factor" really shits me ](*,). The media use it and the players use it. Have we all really become that stupid that the only term we can use to describe a good player and what he brings to the team is the letter X ? Should be W for Wank factor. Thoughts anyone?

Any aussie rules terms that have infected our vernacular.

Ray Warren is prominent in this regard with his use 'mark' to describe someone catching the football off kicks.

I don't mind it for league because we understand it. Its the ability to cause the momentum to break the line, to score a try or to cause the other team to make a mistake with the pill. Often it is infectious on the other players.

What I hate is the term used for other things - such as cooking or modelling shows (yeah most of us all have significant others that dominate the mid-week remote) that use the term, FFS just say
Je ne sais quoi

but it would be weird to hear Ray or Gus use this term to describe Barba.

Parramatta are a premiership chance
Souths year this year

all overused cliches with no meaning whatsoever

I understand it and I know others understand it but it's sort of like verbal planking

What about player interviews when the player responds with "Yeah nah the boys played good, worked hard for each other, y'know, yeah nah it was good to get the 2 points"

I love Yeah Nah. A yuppie mate of mine has two similar paintings bought as a pair, one says "yeah" and the other one "nah" - to me it is a recent social phenomenon that is inexplicable.

I love the paintings and smile whenever i hear yeah nah.

"Working hard for one another". Makes sense but am so sick of hearing it. Daley is the worst by a long way.
