Fight For Your Mind/The Will To Live - Ben Harper (people seem to love the rubbish he produces now. His early stuff is brilliant)
Dear Friends and Enemies - Big Heavy Stuff (one of the best Australian albums this decade)
Interiors - Brad (amazing album, will forever be overshadowed as a side project for Stone Gossard)
See This Through and Leave - Cooper Temple Clause (Overshadowed by all the other english music released at the time. Great raw rock)
Come Down - Dandy Warhols (This album should have been huge - just as good as Thirteen Tales...)
Lost Souls - Doves, Cast of Thousands - Elbow (Doves and Elbow > Daylight > Coldplay)
XO - Elliott Smith (People seemed to only pick up on him with Figure 8. XO is a modern masterpiece. Not enough respect)
Ill At Ease - Mark of Cain (The bass line of 'Remember Me' got me excited about heavy rock all over again...)
McLuskyism - McLusky (can't pick a particular album, just get the best of collection instead. Would have been bigger if they had more radio-friendly names for songs than "Lightsabre lollipoping Blues" for example...)
Sleeps Like A Curse - The Panics (one of the best Aussie bands around. Well written album)
Make Me Love You - Pivot (Great instrumental album, awesome live)
Longplayer - Pollyanna (How these guys failed yet Something For Kate are big is beyond me...)
New Adventures in Hi-Fi - REM (A much better album than it is given credit for...)
Tu-Plang - Regurgitator (It sh*ts me that Unit is given so much praise. This album kicks Unit's arse all over the place)
Take You Apart - Screamfeeder (Another great unappreciated Australian band...)
When Do We Start Fighting - Seafood (Again...undershadowed by Coldplay, Travis, Keane, et al. This album is brilliant)
Shihad/Blue Light Disco EP - Shihad (before they got big, much better than anything post-General Electric)
Final Straw - Snow Patrol (Before they were maligned as 'that band with the annoying Grey's Anatomy' song - this was probably my fave album of 2004. It's a shame what they have become)
Dark Horses - Tex Perkins (better than anything The Cruel Sea made besides The Honeymoon Is Over)
Sound As Ever - You Am I (I don't know whether this is underrated or not - people in the know love this album, kinda overshadowed by Hi Fi Way and Hourly Daily)
