If you haven't heard them, download Touched and Pretty When You Cry. Then buy their first, self-titled album.

Tea Party who have quit. 7 Circles is a great Rock album.

Tea Party were a great band, I wasnt aware they had quit, damn, they fused some good sounds together.

Incubus are a very good band - actually I interviewed Brandon and Mike a few months ago

Have to agree with Devin Townsend, he has made some awesome work. My favourite is ocean machine but i always love to piss of the neighbours with a bit of SYL.

Even his punky brewster material was gold, he makes a mockery album that sounds better than most of the punk bands out there, genius!

I love Arcade Fire as much as any one but they are hardly underrated...every man and his blog has hyped this band so much.

In saying that Neon Bible is AMAZING.

Earth and Sun and Moon - Midnight Oil

Nice album, full of good, well-written songs and melodies. A pity that the album was released too long after their previous album, 'Blue Sky Mining' (three years), and the rest of the music world had moved on to grunge, which this album was definately not. Less incedinary guitars and more organs/pianos than their previous works, and almost every song had an anthemic chorus - e.g. 'In The Valley', 'My Country', 'Truganini', 'Tell Me The Truth' and 'Now Or Never Land'.

In my opinion, it is the best post-Diesel and Dust record of their career.

Their 'Capricornia' CD was also quiet good, although by then almost nobody but the most hardcore fans took any notice and Garret left the band not long after.

The Mars Volta - Amputechture ( Everyone thinks its worse than all their other stuff, but imo its up there with their best)
Shihad - Pacifier Live ( The most rocking live CD you are ever likely to hear)

Agree with the Shihad comments. Probably my second favourite live album behind AC/DC's "If You Want Blood".

I don't rate Amputechture that much tbh, De-Loused will always be my significant TMV album:)

Make Me Love You - Pivot (Great instrumental album, awesome live)

Shihad/Blue Light Disco EP - Shihad (before they got big, much better than anything

Heard great things about Pivot, definately will pursue the interest further. Interesting comments about Shihads ST'ed. Not that many people rate it tbh, I love it. It's a perfect snapshot in time where they had progressed from being a Helmet/Metallica cover band and before they well, sold out.

Tea PArty OWN. I saw them at the Hordern ... to this day, there has NEVER been a tighter sound than that. I have everything theyve ever done, cant believe they no longer are around. Losing The Tea PArty was even worse than losing Soundgarden imo :(

Yeah Ocean Machine is king. The last half hour is the greatest 30 mins of music I've ever heard. Incredible.

I was very impressed with SYL's Alien, right up there with the debut - although I'm yet to hear a song that kicks arse as much as Detox.

I think Music For People is an awesome album too, but I think I'm kind of in the minority there.

I have it but it doesn't come out much, same with Nude. If the first album was never released, I'd listen to them a lot more.

Beatles .. Abbey Road - All the rave is on Sgt Peppers for an epic, White album for a masterpiece .. but this album is just beautiful, once you start listening to side two you can't stop until it's finished.

Kyuss .. Untitled (or And The Circus Leaves Town if you want) - Such a good, rolling, rumbling stoner rock classic. Get on the highway, put this on and roll with it.

Pink Floyd .. Wish You Were Here - Everyone talks about DSOTM and The Wall but this is a masterpiece on par at the least.

Pearl Jam .. Riot Act - Feels kinda like grunge grown up and brought to its logical conclusion. Cohesive, natural, thoughtful and emotive all at once.

Soundgarden .. Superunknown - A great document of a good rock band at its creative peak. Delivers great track after great track after great track. For a CD-length album that doesn't conform to a single theme or ideal, there is plenty of killer material and variety with hardly any throwaways.

Well Azkatro, Fell on Black Days is probably my fav Soundgarden song, followed by The Day I Tried to Live.

I love that album - it's got a real dark feel to it. Not as heavy as Badmotorfinger but excellent nonetheless.

band wise i'll say GWAR. not usually my style and the novelty factor with all the props is the main thing people see, but thoose dudes are some awesome musicians. singer has a great voice and they are tight as.

King Tubby is so well renowned in reggae circles and dub/reggae/ska fans who know the genre hold him in pretty high regard.

His pioneering of dub plates (which really layed the ground work for hip hop sampling etc) goes pretty much unnoticed in mainstream circles. Same as SLy and Robbie....the production methods they came up with inspired so many bands its not funny!

I thought Bodyjar were fairly underrated. "One in a Million" is still my fave film clip of all time. Good humour!

exactly..

the upsetters, the aggrovators... King Tubby's in Fine Style would have to be one of the best albums made - if only he had been around to use the technology that came about not long after he was killed, I think he would be alot more well known than he is.
