Movies that were a steaming pile of crap

Those who hate all superhero movies, fair enough, but have you seen Watchmen? A genuinely good film. The writing is good enough to make up for some seriously dodgy performances. It's easily DC's best ever movie (DK series is overrated imo).

It's one of my favourite movies of all time and I reckon it will end up being a cult classic in the way that Blade Runner wasn't really regarded as one until later.

Which performances didn't you like? Goode was miscast and Ackerman was meh.. but the other four were absolutely spot on. Many minor characters were as if they walked straight out of the comic book panels.

It stands up with the Dark Knight, which is by far the best of that series. Begins isn't outstanding and TDKR is decent but massively overrated.

Ackerman was the worst of them by some distance, just wooden and flat. Goode was the other one who was underwhelming and I thought that Patrick Wilson, while good enough, was at the limit of his skills.

I loved Watchmen.
The directors cut is the best way to watch it. 3 hours with the Black Freighter cartoon added in. Wonderful stuff.

As for the dodgy performances, I really only thought Ackerman was actually bad.
Jackie Earl Haley was fantastic, and Billy Crudup was also quite good.

Haley was incredible, every bit as good as Ledger's joker.

I also thought Jeffery Dean Morgan's comedian was outstanding, very hard character to humanize but he managed to do it. Crudup too, had to park all his charisma and deliver a consistently flat disinterested tone.

I liked Patrick Wilson actually, didn't overplay his hand, he was supposed to be a lonely has-been with identity issues after all.

Jennifer Connelly would have been the perfect Silk Spectre II

Not sure why Kazaam gets so much heat, was anyone really expecting miracles from a silly movie featuring Shaq as a rapping genie. It's for 8 year olds.
