Gower was accused of groping on an underage girl. Jarryd was accused of no more than a playful bite and unwanted advances - I didn't see anything about alleged groping going on? Perhaps you can tell me where the two correlate?

I've never said the girl shouldn't be complaining. I think the media has made more out of it then what it is as have some of the forum members.

He did something to her that she did not want of a physical nature. The two are very similar. Are you familiar with the term "no means no"?

That any of our players are annoying females, touching them when they don't want to be, and for their own amusement IS a concern, end of story. That you and our club sweep it under the carpet is the reason it will keep happening and before you know it we will be no better than the Bulldogs.

18 year old giving out love bites in a club.. shoot the mongrel!

Welcome to the life of a first grade RL player Jarryd, you can't fart without making the headlines. I'm sure if I went out right now and did exactly what he did I wouldn't be $1000 out of pocket. Hopefully he isn't dropped over this rubbish, it would be bloody stupid on the part of the club if he was.

and what the f**k has been swept under the carpet? .... the club looked into it, talked to player and manager, made the player apologise - WHICH WAS ACCEPTED BY THE GIRL - which tells me she is NOT overly concerned by what was done to her, they fined the guy (and don't call $1000 nothing - for the salary he is on compared to other footballers, it is probably a reasonable amount), and the club made a public media release and apology about it - jarryd hayne is now gonna live with the smear he put on his own name

what exactly has been swept under the carpet?

What, so you equate them all to rape then? ffs, everything is by degrees, and if you think this even comes close to Gower then you have serious problems.

Gower didn't do anything grosely worse to her (that was proven)! But you think of him as scum!

Hayne admits to doing something to a female (which if it had been any of your daughters, sisters or girlfriends you would have belted him for), and he is a victim?!!

As for sweeping under the carpet.

We have had next to no alcohol related incidents in the last ten years.

Then there is Tim Smith
Then Eric Grothe
Then Tim Smith again
and Mark Riddell
Not to forget Nathan Cayless
Now Jarred Hayne

And they are just the first graders. the incidents we know of that, have been reported. there could be more!

But no everything is fine, problems are clearly being addressed....

Hayne fined for hotel incident
June 7, 2006

PARRAMATTA has fined wing Jarryd Hayne $1000 over an incident at a hotel on Saturday night.

Hayne, who made his first-grade debut three weeks ago, has apologised after a member of the public complained about his behaviour at The Roxy in Parramatta.
"I did not mean to offend the young lady involved, and I told her that when I spoke to her today," Hayne said in a statement.
"My actions were childish and unacceptable, and I understand and accept the penalty that I have received."
Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald said the club would not tolerate misconduct.
"As soon as the allegations were brought to our attention, we moved swiftly in talking to both Jarryd and his manager," Fitzgerald said.
"Jarryd apologised to the young lady, which was accepted, but the club felt it appropriate a financial penalty be imposed to reflect our disappointment." The latest incident is the third to engulf the embattled club in recent weeks.
Players Mark Riddell and Tim Smith were each fined $5000 and dropped to Premier League last month for turning up drunk to a recovery session.
And captain Nathan Cayless was reprimanded for damaging a security camera in a Star City casino lift.

What planet are you on?

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2006/01/04/1136050498939.html

Gower, 27, had been investigated by Penrith Football Manager Mick Leary after allegations surfaced just before Christmas. Leary's comprehensive report, which involved taking detailed statements from people involved and first-hand witnesses, found Gower had groped the daughter of Balmain legend Wayne Pearce, Tatum Pearce, on the crutch and had menaced Pearce's son, Mitchell with a beer bottle.

But of course, Hayne was just as bad, wasn't he...

All this because the stupid roxy people didn't kick him out. if they had then it wouldn't have gone so far. no, im not saying he didn't do anything but not kicking our a person for doing something like this is not professional. Not only did it hurt the girl but can also hurt jarrad's career.
