Mullen The Great Myth

Ah yep sweet I didn't think you had any specific examples/evidence.

Anyway on topic, Gidley is actually the least of our problems spine-wise at the moment, he was at least quiet against the Eels and not ostensibly terrible. Mullen and Roberts are a much bigger concern given the implication they're our long term halves, although to be fair to Mullen we could write it off to a form slump for now given he had a brilliant 2013 and a very good 2014.

Roberts is the biggest concern due to him only producing sporadic bursts of form his whole career.

The "specific evidence" is clear for all to see on the 80min replay of the game. I'm not responsible for making you see where his deficiencies are. If you don't know then you don't watch the games. If you remember why he was dropped from rep footy you'll understand the issues he has in his game that have never been addressed or improved upon.

And all for just 500K a year.

Now you can get back on topic.

You couldn't even come up with something general like his work under the high ball, let alone specific examples . If he did something why not share it with the rest of us? It's a forum after all. 'Watching the game' is something we all do anyway, it's not evidence for points you make.

I'm not arguing Aku's salary, I just take issue with people exaggerating things that didn't happen just to further their point. You could have picked any number of poor games in which to highlight Aku's deficiencies but this wasn't one of them.

I did, it wasn't great but not many wingers would have stopped a big boy like that dead in his tracks, he was practically over the line when he caught the ball. If we crucify every winger who let in a try like that there'd be none left. Also worth noting that by that stage in the game Folau himself had already let in two tries down his wing.

That game where Manu scored a hatrick on Aku, that's an example of being shown up.

Considering Greg Inglis got f**king schooled by him a few weeks back, there really isn't a whole lot to worry about

Not saying he should've stopped folau, but as Andrew Johns pointed out in the telecast, it was terrible technique, just another example of Aku's lack of improvement in his weaknesses

I assume Rod, unlike yourself, everyone in this forum is extremely aware of all Aku's deficencies of which there are many. You don't have a clue if you need any of this pointed out for you. If you watch the games you should be totally aware of the 500K mistake playing on the right wing for us. Unfortunately no exaggeration is needed when referring to Uate and his mountain of poor habits and shortcomings. They are there for everyone, including opposition coaches, to see and exploit every week.

Wonder if Rod sees any of this????? I think Gould simply called it weak.

I never said he didn't have deficiencies in his game. I said I wasn't referring to his salary.

I asked you to explain how he was shown up by Folau. You are clearly unable to do so, since aqua_duck was able to push your own case better with one line than you did with ten posts.

I know you're obsessed with his salary but reading what's in front of you appears to be as much of an issue for you as it is for our halves.

John Folau has a great pedigree clearly. I would not be getting too carried away by his double try being a result of Aku's defence. The Peats dummy half try was under 8s defence.

And I told you to watch the game if you are unaware of his performance. It is clear to most he was poor again on the weekend. I'm sure you'll take aim at Aqua's post as it backs up his poor performance against Falou, something you missed as you didn't watch the game.

If your winger is on 500k a year, you'd expect him to at least:

- score 20 plus tries every season
- get 20 try assists a season
- save 20 tries a season
- make 20 line breaks a season

I think for what we get out of Aku, we can get the same for a winger on 180k.

You were on track until the try assists, most playmakers will be flat out getting 20 try assists let alone a winger Yosh.

Not sure if true.... Just read it in Facebook, but apparently Mullen has ruled himself out of city country........ Could be to have a week off to recover from this ongoing shoulder injury...... Or he personally can see his form is terrible atm

If it is FB it is bullshit. Some one hears from someone blah blah blah. The way NSW halves are going Mullo is as good a chance as any. The two Bulldogs are not worthy of a incumbent recall.

There's really no reason for Mullen to play City/Country so I could see him ruling himself out. Even in previous years when he was in great form leading up to Origin they never considered him so it's not like he's going to get picked now. Best leave CC for players that are actually a genuine shot at being Blues players in the future. Mullen comprehensively outplayed Reynolds last year in CC and again the following weekend against the Dogs but Reynolds was still picked over him. He doesn't have anything to gain by playing. Just risking more injury.

Last year was a farce. The fact he could outplay Reynolds in back to back weeks and still get overlooked was disgusting because he wasn't a grub. He was easily head and shoulders above any other 5/8 that NSW had to offer. Was the standout halve two years ago too. Oh well...

So maybe our lad will get his recall and I think that is the ignition switch to see what we all knows lies inside the lad. A bloody incredible talent. Do it Daley.
