Mullen The Great Myth

If it's a popularity contest that dictates recruitment and contract $$$$ then we're screwed.

Uate is the first bloke I'd cut. Worst f**king hands in the game and soft in defence. You could grab one of a dozen blokes from QCup to do what he does for just over a third of the $$$$.

Edit- Daniel Vidot would give him a run for his money.

Gagai and Uate good but the problem is both massively overpaid, neither are top 3 in their respective positions but are both the highest paid in the game for their positions

Uate was shown up by a 3 game rookie this week. There's 20 wingers in the comp you'd have before him, all on less money.

Could we just swap Roberts and Randall around? Roberts played well as a bench hooker and could offer the running, unpredictable spark we lack without having the playmaker burdon

No way in hell is Gagai the highest paid centre in the game. Not even close

Uate was shown up by a 3 game rookie this week.

Uate: 1 try, 125m, 2 line breaks, 10 tackles for 2 missed, 0 errors
Folau: 2 tries, 114m, 2 line breaks, 0 tackles for 1 missed, 0 errors

Maybe shown up in the land of hyperbole.

I think this is the best as well as easiest option. Gets Roberts out of halfback and gives us a bit of spark at hooker.

Randell is so impressive. His toughness and winner mentality I am liking. What a scenario it would be if he all of a suddenly gets us firing in the 7. His defence would also tighten any deficiencies in Roberts technique and size. Happy to see tyrone play utility. In fairness he almost pulled a rabbit out until Wicks nailed him in that tackle.

Pretty sure he's only moved to hooker recently for FG. I think his name used to be Tyler Sullivan. He was Robert's junior halves partner so he's played a fair bit there.

I thought Randell came through the juniors as a half or 5/8th as Noname said. Back when his name was Tyler Sullivan, yep. I think he had a few raps back then, too... but it could have just been roopy.

He was primarily a 5/8th up until U20's where he played a number of positions (halves, hooker, backrow and centre). In NSW Cup he seemed to play a lot of backrow but filled in at 5/8th when needed.

You know, with the red-hot form Gagai is in at the moment, I'd probably give him a go at fullback right now. There's no way in hell he'd do worse than Gids. Gags made 10 tackle busts yesterday, many through the middle of the field. The only reason I mightn't try it is that he and Aku work really well together... but Sione is definitely a centre and would gain confidence playing there in first grade... and I don't think much will bring Gags down at the moment, he's on a high. He really impressed me with his performance last night... not one of those blokes that gets their contracts sorted and goes into their shell, that's for sure.

He can run, he's evasive, he can pass and is deceptively strong, too. He's also used to linking with Mullen, at least from his position at centre. More than all of this, he's actually one of the smarter, genuine football players on the team for mine. He's also on fullback money after this year, too. Gags4Fullback imo. I couldn't imagine a better time to try it than now.

Now all you need to do is watch the game.:(

Didn't think he was shown up yesterday. Yes he was given the task of stopping Folau on the line, but regardless if he's played 3 NRL games, many wingers would struggle to stop him there.

Uate hasn't been credited for many big tackles he's made this year, also made some yesterday.

Randell couldn't get it as a half in NYC hence why he got moved to other positions, to throw him in there after 4 first grade games when he didn't have the skillset to play there in lower grades defies logic

He'll be on $600k a year next year if reports are correct, if that's not the highest salary for a centre, it's definitely the highest salary for a centre who hasn't tasted rep football

Tui and Feeney are really our only other options, yeah? Tui sucks, Feeney I've only seen play a couple of times... but was a chronic ball hog in the games I watched.

Yeah, I read $575k somewhere for Gagai. Top centre in the game type money. To be honest, I can't name a centre playing better at the moment. If he keeps delivering, he's worth it. I think if he can be as good at fullback as I think he could be, he'd be worth every penny and then some. Might struggle under the high ball under pressure, but who in our team doesn't? Won't change a thing there.

To me it just makes sense. Gags is infinitely more ready for fullback than Sione. He played there in the juniors, he's accustomed to top flight football, and he's full of confidence and in great form. Has to be a better option than Sione, who while valiant at fullback... hasn't really provided us with much except good kick returns. You put Sione in at his natural position and I think he will thrive... it's not like he's in poor form, he's just playing out of position all the time.
