I reckon...

Friday
7:30pm - FTA - live
9:30pm - FTA - delayed

Saturday
5:30pm - Fox - live
7:30pm - Fox - live*
7:30pm - Fox - live*

Sunday
2pm - FTA - live
4pm - FTA - live
7pm - OneHD - live

* viewers choice
FTA - Seven and Nine - 1 to have Friday and the other Sunday
No Monday game as Monday night games suck.

Also let ABC, SBS, OneHD etc. bid for FTA rights in Vic, SA and WA. To make sure the games are shown at a decent hour, or let Fox show them in these states.

Still no FTA game on Saturday for the 75% of people who don't have pay TV.

Free-to-air IMO...

2 games on Friday night it too much IMO. I'm happy with 1 live game starting at 8:00pm. 1 game live on Saturday afternoon. 1 game Live Sunday afternoon.

You have 9 games .... That will be nice in 6 years when the nrl expand.

Just front up to the NRL with the billion dollars or so, on-sell it to the broadcasters and you can have whatever NRL TV schedule you like.

I Like that one, and when the NRL expands you can add Saturday at 3:30 on FTA

Well lets sell the whole thing and maximize every opportunity.

To do that-

Friday
7:30pm - Nine - live

Saturday
3:30pm - Seven live
5:30pm - Fox - live
7:30pm - Fox - live

Sunday
2pm - Nine - live Warriors home games would fit here nicely.
4pm - Nine - live
7pm - Seven - live

Monday
7pm - Fox - live

Order of choices
Nine 1, 4 7,
Seven 2, 5
Fox 3, 6 , 8

One stipulation for all FTA stations is that all interstate Melbourne games are beamed into Melbourne live. Similar to what the Swans used to do. No more 1am crap. This will help Melbourne build a larger supporter base

One thing is certain - The NRL NEED to have more free to air coverage .... the current Saturday Night coverage for instance is simply an absolute farce . No free to air games at all either live or delayed , limited to no radio .And that's in it's heartland , the coverage in other states/regions is blackout . Just crazy . Monday Night football is no better and yet would rate it's tits off were on Ch 9 live 7.30 pm .

Fail foxtel pays through the arse for it and subscription TV is the way of the future how any footy fan can justify not having it is beyond me(if you can't afford paytv how are you affording the internet?).

Edit: And MNF is one of the highest rating programs on Fox, so another FAIL.

Slightly OT

Go back to scratch.

Each team plays 24 games per year.
There are currently 4 time slots (Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Monday night)

Each team must play an equal amount of games in each time slot to ensure each club has the same ability to attract sponsors. 6 Friday night, 6 Saturday night, 6 Sunday afternoon & 6 Monday night games.

The Monday night game is a potiential ratings bonanza on FTA. It wont be up against anything of significance. On Foxtel its limited because its on pay TV. But I can just imagine, soooo many people getting home from work after a sh*ty 1st day of the week and sitting down and watching the footy. It would brighten so many peoples day. And there inlies the problem. The relaxation of watching it on TV could destroy crowd figures.

And for everyone calling for as much FTA as possible, although they dont at the moment, Fox should be paying a hell of alot more for NRL rights then they are at the moment. Rugby League is their crutch, so by lessening the amount of games we have on paytv, we wont exactly be maximising the amount of money we can make.

Friday - stay the same on FTA
Sat - 3:30 Pay Live, 5:30 Pay Live, 7:30 Pay Live(if we expand, viewers choice, replay at 9:30)
Sun - Stay the same except live Sunday game at 2, delayed game at 4, switch depending on states like on friday nights, both on FTA (this should only happen if we expand so we have an extra game to sell to paytv)
Mon - Stay the same for now.

As many live games as possible and no clashing with other games, I think we have a massive base of fans of the game and not just their own team. Alot of people will watch any game and not just their teams games, clashing would weaken that and our ratings.

So far none of these have addressed the issue of representative matches, the idea of classic matches being replayed, e.g. Chooseday Night Football on Fox or Classic AFL matches on OneHD or possible content pairing with ESL matches.

And SOO will stay on Wednesday and be sold to the highest bidder. (preferably one that alraedy have bought a FTA part of the game)

Internationals will also be sold to the highest bidder aswell I believe, Idealy they would be broadcast live on Saturday nights and Sunday arvos.

Let the RFL sell the rights to the ESL how ever they like, in an ideal world, id have replays of it, on FTA on Tuesday and Wednesday night, but thats me. Not gonna happen.

And I posted this about an hour ago in another thread

What id like to see happen, is for the TV rights deal to include replays of past games. Not neccessarily the current seasons matches, but if so, great!.

The idea being, the commission sells the rights to say 9 and 7 plus Fox. We could then sell the rights to replays from yester-year to One HD. Now just to keep 9 and 7 happy, we could tell One HD that they cannot broadcast the game during primetime or against NRL matches on 9,7 and Fox.

With the evolution of digital TV, it would be nice to have "choose-day" night football on One HD (or any channel willing to pay for them)

My ultimate goal is to have some sort of Rugby League on all 3 FTA channels while at the same time getting as much money from the deals as possible.

I'd walk in there and ask what is the maximum amount the are outlaying for the nrl bid - adding, "and make me cum."

I'd be wearing a ONE HD T-shirt, with 2 hot blondes on my arms. I'd be smiling...raise my eyebrows at whatever he said figure or no figure, and I'd walk out.

No wait....they did this sh*t over dinner.....

We'll be fine. Its a nice restaurant.

I think you will find guys that league coverage will never be the same again,,,,,and it will go to a couple of FTA networks and fox.

I expect headlines like "NRL sends set top box sales through the roof"
