Nathan Brown: Don't blame him for underachieving Saints

Was this the same good friend who told you Gasnier was going to the UK in 2004? A dead cert wasn't it? ;-)

"St Goeorge will never win a premiership with Brown as coach"...that comes from a good friend of mine who is a Dragons fan is is sick to death of the stupidity coming out of Kogarah. Brown is too close to the players and needs to disassociate from the "boys club" if he is to gain the respect he'll need to get his team playing to their potential.

Brown cant do that.

"Sydney Roosters can't win a Grand final unless the team that bettered them all year is booted out."... that comes from some bloke I met one day.
Melon, you're a fool, piss off and organise a "power meeting" in the shadow of Politis. You're merely regurgitating what you've heard others say, here and elsewhere.
I don't think you've had an honest opinion in your life.

Don't bullshit us, mate - we all know you don't have any friends...

I haven't read the thread but Brown should definately cop his fair share of blame for the side underperforming. I'm sure people will be wrapping him left right and centre if they go well next season so he should take the good with the bad.

Here's a question for people. Most of us here would consider Folkes a great coach, a premiership winning coach at that. How long did it take him to get his premiership?

So by your reckoning he has solved the problems of depth in the backs in one season. lol
Can he stop players being injured? I'd like to have a swig of what you're drinking.

No. Next year will be his second year. 1+1=2. It's not hard, like economics or anything...

Injuries are largely bad luck, but poor management is definitely a factor. I'm much happier with our conditioning staff than you should be with yours

That said, we had a few good wins over top 8 sides too. How did you guys go?
Better than the Sharks... much better.
Round 8: Saints v Sharks. Won by Saints 42-12
Round 20: Saints v Sharks. Won by Saints 26-14
As they say in the classics, "owned".

I mentioned top 8 sides. If you're too embarassed to answer, just say 'pass'

How are your dead cert predictions going?

- The NRL are going to let you call yourselves St George again pretty soon because, well, they just are
- Cronulla are moving to the Gold Coast. Definitely. It's just a matter of time
- Nah, make that the Central Coast...

1998 he made the GF and had an amazing last 8 weeks of the whole season
1999 they beat the roosters week one and had a dissapointing loss to the storm (who went on to win it all)
2000 they struggled
2001 they were back in the top 4, but suffered injuries late
2002...we all know what happened that yr
2003 they made the prelim final
2004 they won it all

The only dissapointing yr they had was 2000, apart from that they were consistent and contenders each yr.

Not a fair comparison Folkes inherited a side that had been raped by the Super League war, Brown inherited a side that had been strengthen by it..

Not at all. I know it was a concern before Saints defeated Storm coming intio the semis. The Sharks were clobbered by Saints twice. If you're too embarassed to accept this, just say "pass".

I trust your book keeping is more accurate than your memory.

Firstly, I do believe that as joke between melon and myself. You're just stalking for the sake of it now.

Also, I have never said the "NRL will allow team to be known as St George again pretty soon". Don't talk rubbish.
That's the second time you've made a goose of yourself in this thread.

I have referred to the continuation of history and premierships. Get it right. I have said that I still call them St George, and I'm not alone in having this habit. Last time I checked, I'm not running the NRL.

The Gold Coast Sharks joke has been doing the rounds on many a forum for years. There's dozen of others who have made the jibe. Do try to keep up.

It's been fairly widely reported that the Sharks are planning on playing a few games on the Central Coast, in 2006 isn't it? Take it up with your club.

lol. The Sharks part... yes. Glad to see it amuses you.

So this what you're reduced to Jimbo?
Even for you, that was a sizeable dodge.

Ofcourse it was a dodge. A dodge of the highest order. In fact, you're such an artful dodger that you're denying you're own dodging. You don't get more dodgy than that.

You're accusing me of dodging, when there was nothing to dodge in the first place.

That's just downright nutty...

Sorry Broncodroid, it appears to be hi-jacked by the dodger in denial. The same type who gets narky if an answer doesn't arrived within a specified time frame and then procceeds to make up past predictions.

I think the subject matter had done it's dash anyway.

You didn't like the question?

Nice re-writing of the facts.

I think you'll find it started when you manufactured a blank quote from me. Something to do you not getting your answer in quick enough time. [-X
