Christ, are they St. George Illawarra, or Manchester United?

I was at the game in Canberra, of Friday night, and I gotta tell ya that I saw stuff all care factor from several of our players. When the Raiders winger made a bust in the first half and ran nearly the length of the field he had to run past half the Dragons players before he even got to open space.....and barely a hand on him. Add to that the fact that a couple of the guys chasing him were known to be a helluva lot quicker, and you gotta wonder why they gave up at the halfway line.
Don't tell me this is Brown's fault. He can coach them, apply motivational tools, even raise morale to almost fever pitch, but once on the field if the players aren't putting in then how is the coach to blame.
I took around 100 pics at that game, and I have one where the Raiders have just scored seconds before. Most of the Dragons are facing that way.....some are even still moving in that direction.....except Coops, who has his back to the play with a fairly obvious look of disgust about it all.
Body language is a fair indicator of a team's confidence, and determination....and at the moment the St. George Illawarra players are displaying some pretty piss poor body language.
Dragonheart said:Mate, seriously, I don't believe for a second that he is guiltless in this. However, with the situation at the club right now anyone who believes just hiring another coach will make things right is dreaming.
My point was that the players are a bigger part of the blame. How it's the fault of Nathan Brown that our speedsters are not chasing down opposition players with a lot less speed, or hanging onto the ball, or connecting passes, or tackling properly, is beyond me.
Yes, he needs to, and apparently does, take the responsibility, but let's be honest about the player performance level....or lack of it. These are experienced, professional, first grade footballers who seem completely inept at performing the most basic of fundamental rugby league skills.

Bring back John Fifita said:1 - Phil Gould (coach) + Billy Johnstone (head conditioner) = Premiership.
2 - Brown + McGregor = False Hope.
* Item 1 is a long shot, but the ideal combination to pull the Dragons players into line. I've commented previously its our attitude that stinks, and that is something that is bred by management & coaching in a club.
I like Brownie, and feel for his plight at the moment. But there's no room for sentiment here, we do not aim up at all right now.
