Yeh, I suspect that Brown puts bricks in his pockets at the weigh in though. But who cares, he more than does his job. Jake is also a great player...better defender certainly.

To put into perspective, Brown’s opposition lock last week, David Klemmer, is on a reported $600,000 a season.

On Thursday night the 24-year-old ran for 218 metres from 25 carries. He also topped the tackle count with 41 in an incredible 82 minute performance.

It was a Herculean effort but one Brown’s produced several times this season. A former Tiger and Rabbit, Brown joined the Eels this season after Souths decided to offer him a deal just above a second tier deal.

The Eels’ decision to pay him a smudge more is one already paying dividends.

No he wouldn't. His form has gone through the roof as his minutes have increased, because his greatest strength is his work rate

He's still a dynamic type of player, so a rest should re-invigorate him to be able to do more of that stuff that you see earlier in the games

I'd be interested to see his stats breakdown for different portions of the game over the past month or so, like each 20 minute period. I think you'll find his effectiveness in the last 20 minutes nothing like the first three 20 minute periods. And I'm not talking about nothing stats, runs and tackles, because he's going to make those whether he's on the field for 80 or 60. I'm talking about some real stats on his effectiveness, like run metres gained, post contact metres, tackles per minute, runs per minute, play the ball speeds, etc.

Right now I would not be looking to reduce his minutes/involvment by benching him for any period of the game. He is one of our forward contributors that definitely ain't broke so there's no need for a fix IMO

Given the current make up off the team I think your right.

We can't afford to not have him out there. He's the only forward capable of making constant metres up the middle.
