It would take another ball player on the outside for Maloney to go too. dummy to Kikau go out too Fullback or someone to put the move on. Problem is finding that other option

Well if you practice it the fullback would be the next pass and the 6 can chose between hitting the fullback and centre.

Teams know our attack is the halves and Kikau. you get those 3 together there will be holes elsewhere... This is where a ball playing fullback would be good. Same move but Maloney goes out. FB then cutout puts winger in the corner. Any simple A grade and or oztag side does this

We are saying the same thing which makes me wonder why a group of NRL coaches can't do anything so basic.

The way I see it is you run it like this:

Hit up outside far post
Hooker to first receiver who digs in to the line on his defenders outside shoulder
Pass to second receiver gutting out a prop.
Second receiver either hits second rower coming under like Kikau on the weekend or dummies to second rower
If dummy hit the fullback sweeping around the back who then passes to centre or cutout to winger.

Hope that makes sense.

This structure would allow variation to fool the defence and fix our attack in the 20m. Just relies on the second receiver making good choices.

It is too technical these days. coaches should attend touch comps and the like alot of those simple moves would work in RL

Well Cooper convinced me, put the 6 on his back, whilst I agree, just a number, seems to make a difference to the mindset.

I use Johnson as an example.

Jimmy takes full charge if you give him 7 too.

After rewatching the win over the roosters, I think Cronk should be dropped to reserve grade, he created nothing.
He needed to step up and control the game and create all the tries like Cleary should have.
No line breaks no try assists, poor kicking.
he sucks and doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

That's for this year. Don't know how to find the stats for Cronk at the same age Cleary is now.

He cant pass out in front of a player.

There are legit criticisms of Nathans game right now but some of them, like the above, are rubbish.

Not all the time but he does do it a lot, especially going left to right. He hasn't got a slick pass going that way.

The whole origin selection has stuffed us tbh. (As well as his dad becoming coach)

He wasn’t worthy, it’s put extra pressure on him and it likely cost us more money in his contract.

I think originally it was meant to help him develop which is why Maloney was there but he hasn't changed much yet. He might as time goes by but who knows. Definitely effected his contract.

The one thing you want to avoid is a Jared Mullen type situation. Hopefully they stick with him (just to show some faith and give him some confidence although he'll cop it from critics) and hopefully we get the job done in Perth but if we don't I can imagine he'll be replaced and slip down the order and might have to wait awhile before he gets another chance.

Whatever happens, I can't see Nathan being the kind of guy that goes downhill as severely as Mullen has. Nathan will make the most of what he's been given.
