Cleary was bad in 2019 and deserved to be called out on it.

He had a dream start to his career surrounded by experienced playmakers in Moylan, Wallace and Jimmy.

Was selected for Origin in 2018 and did pretty much nothing in two winning series.

He was essentially goal kicking Mitchell Pearce early on.

The 2020 through 2022 improvement in his play was off the charts.

I bagged Edwards for his horrible goal line attack and untimely mistakes. Late 2021 and 2022 he proved me wrong. At the same time his attack was terrible and he did make bad mistakes. He turned it all around in 2022 and good on him.

I don't think the default position should be to assume a player will come good especially at a club which has twice gone from premiers to trash in record time.

All of us have plenty of posts that were completely wrong, that includes the cheer squad too. I didn't rate Cleary as a million dollar half back then either. No egg on my face, I ate it and it was delicious.
