He won't be picked for game 3.Queensland will just target him again with the same result.
Bring in Hayne on the wing and Adam Reynolds to half for that useless Pearce.

Was Merritt great? No he wasn't. But Daley himself has confirmed coming in on Inglis was the gameplan. GI is the best player in the world and when an idiot coach has a shit plan to stop him of course he'll tear you up.

Merritt was acting on orders. I doubt he'll play another game now but he has never had a fair go and he has been made to look bad by an incompetent coach.

Probably right, but if the coach tells you that's the game plan, you follow it. Right?

He was told to jam in on Inglis.

Ok so the bunnies supporters are going to use 'the coach told him to do it' as an excuse for merrit rushing out of the line.

Firstly, you are a professional; when something is not working change your tactics. JT did when herealised Merrit was rushing Inglis the entire time, and look how that turned out.

Secondly, where was he on kick returns? He made no meters and gave Inglis and easy try off a kick.

That might have been the game plan but you don't do it with reckless abandonment like he did. The plan is to jam in on Inglis but not before he actually gets the ball, coming in is all about timing and reads, he couldn't have got that more wrong. His hit ups were awesome too

You so fkn predictable. The guy is a professional, he didnt execute the coaches game plan and was found out.
For once come out and admit you were wrong.

Lol.

If Merrit was "acting on orders" then Daley will make up for his lack of rugby league knowledge and useless game plan by sticking with Merritt for Game 3. You can't instruct a bloke to rush in off his wing every time the ball heads your direction and then sack him because of your mistake as coach.

I'm sure Daley will keep him for Game 3 and "instruct" him to stay the f**k on his wing next time.

When the backs play this bad.. I blame the halves. Did the superstar rooster halves actually provide anyone with decent ball?

did you not see the forwards get dominated from the outset? did you not realise that NSW were rarely in the QLD half for the first half hr of the game?

it was a similar situation to QLD halves doing f**k all in Game 1 when their forwards had less ball and poor territory.

foundations are laid in the middle. Scott, Parker and Myles were on fire tonight. And with all the ball they had, they hardly had to make a tackle so played greater minutes and continued to cart the ball up over and over again. Then Gillett came on continued to do same. Their forwards were so fresh from doing hardly any defensive work that Papallii wasn't even required until the 2nd half, and that's also taking into account that DCE was also an interchange as well so they played over 3/4 of the game using just 2 interchange forwards.

What a luxury to have a middle forward on the bench and not even have to use him.

Game 1 with NSW dominating possession.

Game 2 with QLD dominating with even more possession.

Hopefully Game 3 is all-square and there's a cracker. That's when the pressure will be on.

Every winger in the comp would have looked bad with what the inside defenders were doing for NSW. They let Thurston run riot and create massive overlaps

Same goes for Morris who has been great in every other Origin, but this one, the inside men simply didn't create numbers while Thurston ran across the ruck and passed at will

He was embarassed by following a completely idiotic gameplan. That will be the main reason he will never play origin again. NOT because he isn't good enough.

And how many chances has Pearce had? Pearce was far more responsible for this loss.

Morris had a terrible origin a few years ago where he played pretty much how Merrit played today

I believe that it's pretty safe to assume that Merritt will never play another Origin game.
One was too many IMO.

At least Laurie has put the bullshit racism card to bed.

The gameplan was fine, it worked in Origin 1. But the whole of the NSW team didn't aim up this time

We didn't have possession but seriously when it came down to the crunch our halves failed to get repeat sets and there kicking game sucked some hairy balls.

Merritt sucked but he is only one player within our backline. Can anyone remember a highlight from te backs? Nope nada. We had nearly 0 second phase plays, when it looks like we might trouble them wide, passes were thrown behind.

There were moments in that game where our go forward was okay, but we would finish off the set with a shit kick .
