Aaron Woods is statistically OK. Looking purely at stats like hit ups and post contact meters he is fine.
But he offers nothing in the way of energy.
Toby Rudolf who played the last few rounds as the other starting prop at Sharks made Woods look silly. Rudolf created and busted holes in opposing sides defence, ran like a man possessed.
Aaron jogged into the line, turned around, reversing while looking for the telegraphed offload. When he does offload it’s standing still and results in nothing.
Stats show he made good PCM and an offload but his play made no positive impact.
Anyway, welcome to the club Aaron, happy we could accommodate you in your final year(s) before retirement.
Mate I have been a Woods supporter but this last season has shown his real old age deficiencies, and it isn't to do with his attack.
We've had to watch our smallest forward, Brailey, take on every big MF run at him, all the while Woods will stick an arm out, not move a metre to cover, maybe come in as 3rd man etc etc. Whether it's laziness, old age, or both I don't know.
Basically this, his attack stats can be quoted as much as anyone wants, you will all be upset with his defence. Every single one of you.

Great post. Fair and factual. Unlike those who hope he winds back the clock 4 years to become a rep player again when he puts the red v on.

We have cried out for years for a line bending, dynamic forward. The better teams have two or three of them at least. We've got Lawrie who is not a consistent player.

We have lost Vaughan who was losing it but he was ironically the difference in the BBQ warriors win.

I've watched Woods closely this year. He's had it. Like Mbye he will bring experience and not much else especially in the way of X factor. Of any our current props I'd pick Burgess as the one most likely to be that line bending forward but he is no certainty of playing much footy. Molo will be great and potentially can do it but not evident when I watched cowboys this year.

As you say, gotta get behind him now.

As soon as you don't play everyone home and away your competition is compromised. And you double down when some teams are forced to play without their best players during SOO.
Bronco won the comp with almost all their players playing Origin. Penrith won this year and Melbourne last year, Roosters the year before with a stack of Origin players. That's just an excuse.

I've been on here since 2013 and have mostly tried to stay positive but the crimes and misdemeanors of this club just keep piling up ( so many I won't bother to list them, you know what and who they are ) and here we are 2021. Our CEO is Craig Young, the biggest most useless pig at the big red and white trough for far too many years who is the reason for many of our woes and who will fail as CEO as he has failed at everything else except living off once being part of a premiership winning team 41 years ago. Looking forward, our roster is the most ragtag bunch of misfits and judiciary whipping boys in the league and isn't likely to go anywhere next year. Our coach from 2023 will be Dean Young, if not sooner. Our young talent will walk and I don't blame them. It's like Covid - we need a fkng roadmap out of this mess and no-one has a clue how to make it happen or even have a vaccine.

Posted similar to this many times. The revamped board has no substantive change at all. A Chairman and a board member swapped titles.

We can whinge all we want about recruitment, talent lost, coaching staff, etc... it all comes back to the decision makers.

I like Craig Young, and think he honestly believes he is capable of Charing this place. He is not though. He has been around the Club forever.

This isn't about justifying Woods or MBye, or whoever as signings. As a supporter I wish them all well. I do though believe that we will be here next year debating the 2023 season as we are now previewing the next season. Rinse and repeat. Thus the frustration with many loyal fans.

May take some of my Xmas savings and place a small bet for the boys to sneak into the semi-finals - we need to be positive gents .
Me too. We’ll make the 8 for sure.
Can’t remember the last time we recruited so well. Sua, Molo, the better Burgess twin, the wrecking ball from Manly. Juniors ready to rock. Deadwood moved on.
Hook and Webb know what they’re doing.

Go dragons.

Given that the off season has officially started, I thought this would be a great opportunity to tell a bunch of you to get f**ked.

This bullshit about “naysayers” and “supporting the direction of the club”. As well as calling people “not true fans” whenever anyone is critical of decisions made at the club.

This club is a steaming pile of shit, and has been for a decade. It deserves heavy criticism and should be reminded on a daily basis that it’s standards are not high enough.

If you just want to circle jerk about how you’re a “true supporter”, Facebook might be more on your level.

I’ll see you merkins in the swamp.
