Mavs play zone mostly and Heat suck from outside but I doubt they can stop Wade and LBJ from penetrating often enough to win a series. So Heat in 7. Chandler vs Bosh will be good, hopefully they go at it.

Gotta say, it's pretty liberating to be following a Finals and not have a rooting interest.

Can just enjoy the games without having to worry about nerves.

Miami with the early lead; 10-5 with 5:30 to go in the 1st.

Heat have Joel Anthony guarding Dirk, so far with mixed results.

Interesting to see that the Heat have been looking to Bosh on offense early. Obviously trying to make Dirk work on the defensive end.

Both teams struggling on offense so far. Good defense by both teams.

Poor start for Wade. Bosh has probably been the Heat's best so far.

Mavs up 44-43 at HT.

Bosh, Lebron and Dirk all having decent games so far. Chalmers and Terry have both provided good scoring off the bench. Was nice to see Chalmers hitting the wide open shots that came from the Heat ball movement combating the Mavs zone. Bibby missed too many of them in the 1st quarter.

Lebron with a 3 at the buzzer (crazy fadeaway) to give the Heat a 65-61 lead at the end of the 3rd. He's 4-4 from downtown.

Lebron and Wade close out beautifully as the Heat take Game 1 92-84. Wade was poor in the first half but came alive in the 4th. Good game from Lebron throughout. Heat got some good contributions from their bench, in particular Chalmers and Haslem.

Mavs stayed with them for the first quarters but just couldn't keep up in the 4th. JJ Barea really struggled. Had good looks, just couldn't connect.

Totally slipped me. That was Lebron's first win in the Finals.

LeBron is on a mission and i think the heat are just going to prove to be far to strong for the mavs. Wade, Lebron and Bosh...very unlikely a team with these 3 players is going to lose 4 out of 7 games in a series.

All the LeBron haters should seriously just sit back and watch him play, because the only thing they are doing is hurting themselves by not being a part of it all and wintessing this once in a life time player, instead finding every possible way to continue to hate him. Just be glad we get to watch such a talented athlete.

MIAMI (AP) — As if losing the opener of the NBA finals wasn't bad enough for the Dallas Mavericks, now they have to deal with an injured Dirk Nowitzki.

It's only a torn tendon on the middle finger of his left hand, his non-shooting hand. And he can protect it with a splint

Not ideal, but Dirk's said that it won't be too big an issue.
