am i the only one barricking for boston?

like someone else said, tony allen will be the celtics most important player for this series.

don't be surprised to see tony start over PP.

also, paul pierce hasn't been as huge as he was two years ago.
neither is KG

its the bench that has improved immensley for boston, also the fact that rondo has finally found his rythem, the kid is made for big games.

ray allen has had limited posession but looks more lethal than he ever has.

not sure what his 3pt stats are compared to 2008 but he seems more turned on.

the bench is what will determine who the better team is, i think boston have the upper hand.

Yeah Rondo's proven that he's a playoff warrior. That's two post-seasons in a row where he has stepped up his game from the regular season.

I think Nate will have a good series. We saw a bit of him at the end of the Orlando series and he looked decent. Then again if Rondo is killing it then he won't see too much playing time.

I cant stand the Lakers so Ill be cheering for Boston. Dont be ridiculous, Tony Allen has zero chance of starting over Pierce.

Haha, agreed on both counts.

I said Tony Allen is hugely important for the Celtics, but Pierce is without question the key. If he can get on top of Artest, it will go a long way towards the Celtics winning the series.

Lakers are 1.40 to win game one....i think thats a bit short. I heard a stat that Phil Jackson in 36-0 in series when his teams win game one.

i wouldn't think tony allen would start over PP but there was one game against the cavs where they started him over PP (or it could have been ray allen) to guard lebron.

don't quote me on that but thats where i am making my assumption from (ass-u-me).

Bynum still struggling - although IIRC from the original article he wasn't going to practice until tomorrow so we'll see what comes out after that.

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=5240613

Interesting how he's talking up his left and right hook shots against the shorter Perkins. Firstly, he's going to have to get touches to actually put that into good use, and secondly, he's going to have to establish deep position against the stronger and wider Perkins - get Bynum away from the rim and he's a career 40% shooter. Knowing Perkins, he's going to be motivated by those comments.

It's going to be interesting to see if Perkins picks up another T. Given the way he conducts himself, you'd think there's a pretty good chance he will pick one up at some point in the series.

Exactly, Lakers just gotta be patient and get under his skin. We dont need Bynum to dominate, we just need him to rebound and use his big frame to make it difficult for them in the paint, he doesnt need to score big numbers for us to win just has to do the little things.

i noticed in game 6, he kept his mouth shut the whole game.

then again, there was no real reason for him to go off his head.

hopefully he understands that this is the championship, im sure he doesn't want to miss any games so i assume he will be on his best behaviour.

Hahaha - I was only half joking. The refs will T him up, of that I have no doubt. But I don't think they'll get him in any specific moment.

The main reason the refs will T him up is that he brings it on himself. Not deliberately - the guy just plays with a lot of emotion - but he reacts after just about every 50/50 call in a way is provocative.

Both Wallace and Rondo participate in practice for the first time this week:

http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba/news/story?id=5244706

As there's no mention of him and he played in game 6 I presume Big Baby has fully recovered from his concussion, however Daniels still hasn't been cleared.

24 hours to go - this has the potential to be the best Finals series for quite a few years. Two teams that have faced off before (for the most part), in great form and fairly evenly matched. Geez I hope this lives up to expectations.

one thing that frustrates me the most about perkins is the amount of illegal screen calls he gets.

he does have a habbit of moving whilst screening which is obvioulsy his fault, but the refs know he does this now, and like you said, the 50/50 ones where you think the screens looked good, always go against him because of his reputation, he usually fires up about these the most.

i don't blame him because i have seen some where he hasn't even moved whilst screening and the refs blow the whistle, another thing i noticed is he usually gets pinged for these when setting a screen for PP.

PP has a tendancy of stepping back (not exactly but gives the defender room to move up and around the screen), in doing this, perkins has to move up and he gets pinged every time.

but i agree, he plays with alot of emotion, which i love.

what i like about the guy the most, is he is awkward.
he runs awkardley, posts up awkardley, he even blows up awkwardley, but a very strong player.

i think he did an awsome job on howard (not forgetting sheed and big baby).

the kid can't crack a smile either, even if it killed him.

The moving screen is such an unevenly called foul. Perkins gets pinged for it - I think he's led the league in offensive fouls for the last couple of years because of it - but every game I watch I see at least a half doezen instances which aren't called.

I love his accent - he's from the south somewhere, Texas I think - and I'd love to hear him just utter "I'm hunting little Mexican girls" in that accent every time Kobe is at the foul line.
