Eh, I thought there were ticky-tack fouls on both sides.

As for the foul your referring to. It was a pretty bad call. But I'll say this. You know the game is being called tight. Soft calls are being called on both sides. Checking Ray Allen into the 3rd quarter, with 4 fouls, was always a risky play.

Surprising note. Nate Robinson had a +10 for the game, no doubt that was when the Celtics were making their mini-comeback in the 4th. A bit surprised we didn't see more Perkins. He wasn't really in any foul trouble throghout the game.

There were ticky tack calls on both sides - that's what I said - non calls mixed with ticky tack stuff.

I just hate seeing refs making such bad calls. From where I was, I could live with the no-calls and even some of the ticky tack stuff. As I said, happens every game. But that Ray Allen call was bail out call, simple as that. Dreadful, but not surprised.

The refs made some strange calls for both sides, way too many soft calls and alot of free throw attempts (36 FTA for Boston and 31 for LA), just ridiculous that amount, its the freaking finals, let the games flow a bit.

Anyways, good to get the win in game and really happy with the way we played, now to back it up in game 2.

Fair enough.

With the 2-3-2 format, it's going to be difficult for Boston if they don't win Game 2.

lakers out hustled the celtics.
bynum is strong and unstopable when he is on his game.
pau gasol outplayed KG
the tech on PP at the begining of the game was a bad call
ray allen got pinged with too many soft calls, he would have been dangerous had he stayed out of foul trouble.
rondo wasn't at his best, got outplayed by farmar (check spellun).

the calls were soft, but la definately played a more physical game than boston which was very surprising.

kobe marking on rondo was a good call.

game two should be different, i would expect more intensity from boston next game.

Hopefully the refs let them play a bit more tomorrow and dont give that many fouls for minimal contact, i hope the Lakers come out with the same intenesity as the first game and get up 2-0

I think Ray Ray will have a big game. From looking at Game 1, Fisher tried but couldn't consistently stay with Allen running of screens.

42-31
12-8 (16-0)
12-5
48-30

Rebounds
Offensive rebounds (second-chance points)
Fast break points
Points in the paint

Those are the areas that Boston has to win if they're going to stand any chance in this series. They have to defend the paint better and control the defensive glass better (LA are a good offensive rebounding team but 12 is absurd), get some second-chance points of their own and eliminate as best as possible Lakers' fast break opportunities.

All of those numbers point to a team that just wasn't switched on in that first game, which I think most have observed. Lakers just wanted it more.

Put 50 on the lakers @ 2.80 to win between 1 and 10 points....suspect a close game today, but Kobe to pull them out of trouble

Excellent first quarter for Boston. Fast pace really suited them, Rondo in particular. Sheed was good off the bench.
