Other thing going round is the Heat still trying to move Beasley and / or buy out James Jones to clear that extra bit of space to offer 3 max contracts.

Blazers GM Pritchard has also just been fired (with 20 minutes left to the draft!).

And that Bulls / Wiz trade is legit.

And agreed with K - Magic do NOT make that move. They've got two useful trade chips in Bass and the Pole to move this summer for some additional help on the wings if they want.

Crazy thing is, Pritchard will still be drafting for the Blazers at 22 - I'm thinking he should take Luke Harangody!

And Sixers take Turner.

Favors to the Nets.

Think it's safe to write in Wes Johnson 4th and Cousins 5th to the Kings.

Can't wait to see who the Warriors take. Another athletic shot-blocker that can't shoot or a combo guard is my bet.

Thank god we didn't pass on Turner.

The best 3 players go 1,2,3 no shock there... Lets see what the wolves do

Turner-AI-Lou-Iggy-Young-Speights-Brand (if he ever gets it back) plus the two Kings.......going to be interesting what moves you make from here.

Well there's a shock - Warriors taking a lanky shot-blocker in Ekpe Udoh. Pistons take Greg Monroe 7th. I think that's a really good pick, they have a need in the middle and I believe after Cousins and Favors, he was the third best big man. He might not be a star, but he should be a very solid player.

Good old warriors.... Monroe is handy for the pistons

How cool is Aminu

Where are all the trades at??

Think Monroe's passing would have fit really well with the Warriors style.

And Jazz taking a big white wing who can shoot! What a surprise!

Surely the Warriors luck out on at least one of the 'tweeners' they keep selecting...

The Hawks were in the same boat with their small forwards a few years ago...

Is Cousins any good?? I have a soft spot for the Kings and i hope they do well but I keep hearing he's an Eddie Curry type player. That's not a good sign...

He is worth the risk for where they picked him up at.

He is more athletic than Curry. But he has some issues over his attitude and his weight. I think he can be a very good player and makes a good fit there but he had a few to many risks to be taken top 3 imo. He definitely has the potential to be the best player coming out of this draft. Kinda has the mentality of a Rasheed Wallace I guess.

He's a better rebounder than Curry and has a jumper, as well as being solid scoring around the basket. It's just a matter of how committed the Kings are to working with him, it's one thing to say that the players have to show the commitment to improve (absolutely agree with) but a lot of teams will put players with maturity issues into the too hard basket - look at Miami with Beasley. The guy can flat out score the basketball but instead of giving him crunch time minutes to help him improve his shoddy defence, his coach for two years yanked him out of every close 4th quarter. That's not how you gain a player's trust IMO. And now they're about to trade him (a certainty IMO), probably for an expiring contract of a guy that's not even half as talented (Ryan Gomes).

If the Kings perservere with him, he has enormous ability. He needs to want it as well, but I just hope the Kings build a solid situation around him.

The Aldrich pick by the Hornets means that Okafor is almost certainly out of town.

Minny trade Babbit (16th) to Blazers for Martell Webster.

Thunder trade rights to Bledsoe to Clippers for future 1st. Thunder also trade 21 and 26 to Hornets, with the 21st have picked Craig Brackins, another big for the Hornets.

Re the Hawks comment, we *only* drafted 3 SF - Chill, Smoove and Marvin. Thought was that Chill would play the 2 (remember it was a year before JJ came over) and they picked Marvin thinking he would be a stud - he was ranked 2nd on their board behind Bogut.

Our worst draft decision though was drafting Shelden Williams with the 5th in 06. Had they picked Roy or Rondo there, we would've been set, and forgiven them for passing on Paul.

And just when I defend the drafting of SF, we go and select another - although it's going to the Nets it seems.

Okafor will be hard to move given his contract. I still remember that S.Williams pick a very WTF moment!! I wanted Rondo or Brewer and we got Carney. Gah

I think Alabi or J.Jordon could both be rotational c's.

I remember watching Shelden at Duke and just thinking the track record of undersized, unathletic, low-skilled centres (not to mention 4 year seniors) wasn't great. Then I started hearing how the Hawks had promised to draft him and going "NOOOOOOOO"!! Sure we needed some size at the time, but he just so wasn't the player that we needed. What a waste of a top 5 pick, where Roy, Rondo AND Gay were all still on the board. Hell, at the start of that 05/06 season, Gay was the consensus number 1 pick and slipped because of an underwhelming season, but the talent was there for all to see.

Still - LOL at the Bobcats for taking Morrison 3rd.

Word is that Magic/Hornets deal is close to being done if the Magic can find Okafor a home...

CP3 and Dwight? phoar! Super teams rule...

Hawks trade Damion James (24th pick) to Nets for 27th and 31st - Jordan Crawford and remains to be seen.

So we get another combo guard and hopefully a legit frontcourt reserve. Crawford seems to be another of those iffy attitude types, not sure we've got a solid system to bring out his best....
