Thanks for that.

I'm personally not a fan of adding Melo. Like that article said Philly is a really harsh place(Look at how much they hate Iggy) and I don't think he would like it. Iggy and Turner(and Young) are the same mold so one kinda has to go to improve the team. I don't think Melo pushes them over the edge as they don't have a good enough team around him. That is why I'd prefer a full rebuild and try and help the Nets get Melo. Philly however seems to hate the idea of a full rebuild and wants to win as many games while retooling as possible.

It could happen though.. Philly has terrible crowds and this would create a buzz and also Denver apparently really like Iggy. I still think he will end up a Knick

Magic pick up Ryan Anderson's option

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orlando Magic have decided to keep promising young forward Ryan Anderson around a little longer.

The Magic announced Friday they were exercising their option on Anderson's contract that will keep him in Orlando through next season. Anderson was traded from New Jersey last year in the blockbuster deal that brought Vince Carter to the Magic.

Anderson proved to be a valuable piece of the trade.

He beat out Brandon Bass for the backup power forward spot, logging heavy minutes while starter Rashard Lewis served a 10-game suspension to start last season. Anderson averaged 7.7 points per game and helped stretch the floor with his strong 3-point shooting.

The 22-year-old was drafted 21st overall by New Jersey in 2008.

Carlos Boozer out with broken hand

By Nick Friedell
ESPNChicago.com

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer has a broken right hand that will require surgery, and he is expected to be out eight weeks, the team announced Sunday afternoon. Boozer suffered the injury on Saturday during the Bulls' day off. Boozer tripped over a bag in his house and fell.

"[I was] at my house, came around the corner, fell over a bag, put my arm down to kind of brace myself," Boozer said. "I'll get surgery on Tuesday and do my rehab, be conditioned and run with the guys. The good thing about it was at least it only happened in the preseason.

"It's tough. Obviously, I'm disappointed. I feel bad about it, but we got guys who can play, man. Guys will be able to step up and play. We've been practicing hard, getting ready for the preseason right now. I'm going to be there supporting them, I'll be their biggest cheerleader and sideline coach. And I'll be busting my butt trying to get back and healthy and attacking my rehab trying to get right."

The team says Boozer broke the fifth metacarpal bone in his hand. He was evaluated by team physician Dr. Brian Cole and hand specialist Dr. Marc Cohen of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

The Bulls signed the two-time All-Star veteran forward to a five-year deal worth about $75 million this summer after missing out on LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. In eight professional seasons, Boozer has missed 145 games.

Boozer spent the previous six years with Utah and averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds last season before joining the Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal with the Jazz.
Said Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau: "It's part of the NBA. Those things happen. I think we've got more than enough to win with. We're disappointed, obviously, to lose Carlos, who put a lot of work in, and he was playing great, but that's part of the NBA. We move on and we just move forward. We've got plenty of guys who have started and have played in a lot of big games."

Bulls forward Joakim Noah will be expected to pick up the slack during Boozer's absence, and second-year forward Taj Gibson is the most likely candidate to replace Boozer in the starting lineup.

"It was kind of hard," Gibson said of the circumstances. "Because I came in, I was expecting to just go against him again in practice, just get better, because the whole [experience] was a positive, just learning from him, getting better. Then to come in, see him hurt, hopefully he gets back [as] soon as possible because I know our team's going to need him."

Gibson started 70 games last season, averaging nine points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

How good is it that the NBA pre-season is under way.

T'Wolves beat the Lakers, Kobe only played 6 mins, but its a win for the Wolves, Beasley had 21, he could be a good pickup for them.

Watched most of that game and gee you forget how talented Beasley is. Knocked down a three and if he can consistently hit from outside he'll be a triple threat with his strong post and dribble-drive games. Still though I don't see much improvement from last year's 15 wins for the Wolves. Soft inside, no real low post scorer and highly doubt Ridnour backs up from his strong 2010 campaign.

pekovic is a decent low post scorer
also this team is 10 times better than last year just look at the bench

Webster/Pekovic/Brewer/Ellington/Flynn/Toliver
now compare that with Love/Ellington/pavovic/Jawai/Hollins/sessions

event the starting line up looks way better and this team can shoot

Great little article on the work Pop did with Jefferson over the summer (begins about a third down the page)

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/featur...ning-tip-john-wall/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

So Popovich gave Jefferson a choice, telling him there would be no hard feelings either way. Jefferson could agree to meet Popovich and assistant coach Chip Engelland during the summer in San Antonio to go "back to school," as Popovich put it, on regaining the fundamentals that the Spurs' coach thought Jefferson had lost over the last few seasons. He would also work with Spurs assistant Chad Forcier in New York. And he'd take part in Tim Grgurich's skills camp in Vegas in August.

Or he could refuse, and enjoy his summer.

"And I would have definitely tried to trade him on the spot," Popovich said. "I told him I would definitely go to work on getting your ass out of Dodge."

Favourite bit:
"I just think he needed somebody to demand it of him," Popovich said. "He's a smart guy and he's got great character. It was lucky for me that I could address him straight on. If he was a dumb guy or a smart ass I would probably have had to try to trick him. Overall, I hope it translates to more consistent play."

Another example of why the Spurs are the best run franchise in the game IMO.
