Line-up 1
PG - Holiday
SG - Iguodala
SF - Young
PF - Brand
C - Hawes
with Williams, Turner, Speights & Kapono off the bench.
Or Line-up 2 (hypothetical)
PG - Paul
SG - Williams
SF - Anthony
PF - Brand
C - Hawes
with Young, Speights & Kapono off the bench.
Biggest weakness for both line-ups would be three point shooting. And I know Williams would be beaten badly at the two guard, so maybe try to pick up a vet for the minimum and bring him off the bench.
But with Paul you're getting the league's best point guard & with Anthony a top 5 pure scorer. Turner seems nice & they're talking up Holiday to start training camp but will either ever be as good as Paul? And Anthony is not the defender that Iguodala is but is superior in almost every other aspect.
I'd pull the trigger on both deals. IMO that's a top 4 team in the East at worst and better than the current line-up.
Interesting to see what would happen with Billups if Anthony is traded. I would love him at the Hawks and Portland would also be a great fit. He's also said he wants to play for something so he won't want to stick around if Anthony is traded and the Nuggets rebuild.
